Maybe 'Baker' is being brought in to teach the playing list how to f***ing kick?!

In which case, get him in there pronto, add Lindsay Gilbee, Tory Dickson and Gary Walpole!!!
Gary Walpole? I was just ready to go to sleep Geoff, you bringing up that name will give me nightmares!

Bevos match day coaching seems nonexistent at times. And we know his team selection is the worst we’ve ever seen (last night proves everything we needed to know). He seems to override inexperienced assistant coaches and good ones leave. He plays favourites with old VFL plodders and doesn’t play potential long term prospects. He has made many enemies in the media which is overall harmful for the club. His messages to the members are rubbish, so when during the week does he do his so called ‘good’ coaching?

Kicked the sealer v Dees at the G one day, 1981-ish maybe(?), was possibly the worst kick off the boot of a forgettable game, but somehow floated dead straight. I don't think that ball had ever heard of drop, torpedo or flat punt as it did some things in the air no Sherrin has ever been able to replicate! 😆

Agreed we don't have the greatest record although the above series of descriptions isn't completely accurate, plus it misses out a few coaches. that we parted with reasonably painlessly.

Wallace walked out; he wasn't sacked. He didn't get a grandstand send off because no-one was happy with him walking out the way he did, especially the players reportedly.

The only embarrassing bit about the 'McCartney thing' was that it took the board years to discover what should have been apparent six months in, if not earlier. The bloke hardly put a foot right from the moment he took the job. He really should have been shown the door at the end of his first season in charge. A completely disastrous appointment whose main skill seemed to be an ability to convince others that he wasn't to blame for his failures.

The current situation is an embarrassment for those tantruming supporters and media calling for the head of the most successful coach we have ever had just two years on from a GF appearance, and when we are still a chance to sneak into the finals.
I agree with all of that, and I’m not saying I supported any of those ex coaches (except Wheeler).
All I’m saying is we seem to do things uglier than most, and I don’t see why we should be thanking, let alone “must respect” some parasite who’s trying to promote supporters heading in this distasteful direction again.

I don't have name of coaches but the goss past through to me

-3 names including Cameron have been brought up for the restructure of the coaching staff
-Two NAB League coaches are in talks with the dogs for a full time role
-Grant expected to keep his role but with new support around him
-Nathan Bruke potentially doing more AFL work next year as part of his AFLW Full Time role

Played in a senior FDFL premiership with the great man. Fish or Wappa was an awesome player at that level and very good at Werribee VFA level too. More importantly a great bloke too.

add hawks, suns, swans, giants, pies.

that's a top 4 spot right there

Hmmm not sure about your choice of a couple of games here.

Pies - I was at this one. Collingwood were clearly the better team for 3qtrs despite us jumping them at the start. We were witches hats after that, then managed a few goals at the end to mask it.

Suns - once again got an early jump but never really looked like winning it after that despitegetting close in the last. GC definitely better on the day.

Thanks, yeah everyone seemed to call him Fish at training when I attended in that era - Fish Creek produced a few popular club men. I'd heard from others he was a pretty popular team mate at WO too, even though he was only there for a short time.

All those other clubs were better on the day. That's why they won.

It's a bit fanciful to think we could have won all the close ones (although Collingwood did a good job of that last year) but the point was that we didn't do enough in those games to halt the opposition comebacks and/or run-ons.

That's what we've spent a good part of the year gnashing our teeth over. That's a large part of this whole debate.
You may see it as being all on the players but not everyone sees it that way.
