Eclipsing the previous milestone held by Ted Whitten Snr (228 games between 1957 – 1971), Beveridge’s coaching record is not to be dismissed.

Since taking over the helm in 2014, Beveridge has won one premiership, taken his side to two Grand Finals and 12 finals (both Club records), and holds the highest winning percentage (56.58%) among anyone who has coached 100 or more games in the red, white and blue.
He also claimed back-to-back AFL Coaches’ Association Coach of the Year awards in his first two seasons.

“Dad used to always say ‘records are meant to be broken’,” Ted Whitten Jr told the Herald Sun this week.

“I’m pretty sure Dad and Charlie would be rapt with what Bevo has done with the club, like all the supporters are.

“He has done a great job, the fact that he brought a premiership to the club (in 2016) was just unbelievable. He has had his detractors but he has proven them all wrong.

“He is hanging in there and the side is playing as well as it has for some time.”

Great to get sixth, think thats closer to where we deserve to be.

Its a shame it took so long to get our season going. 11-4 with a 133% after round 8. Definitely top 4 quality after that start but super disappointing to be 3-5 with a pretty soft early draw. Maybe we needed the kick up the arse to kick us into gear. Seemed to up our level as our fixture got tougher.

Sixth might not be the worst spot to be. Don't think we should be scared of any of the teams in the finals, no one is a standout this season. 8th would have had three interstate finals to make the GF, there is a chance a run from 6th might be MCG, MCG, Sydney, MCG. Could definitely open up for us if we are good enough.

I think we probably have the scariest opponent possible in Hawthorn. Brisbane are dangerous but primarily just at home so I wouldn't be shocked if they go out in the semi finals. Port are good but we played like absolute dogshit against them when we played them.

Geelong away from Geelong is also not exactly the scariest of propositions.
