Despite labour doing everything they can to mess up the olympics I can’t vote for LNP either, looks like it will be an independent or donkey vote for me
When you say Donkey vote do you mean informal. Just trying to clarify.

Donkey vote is numbering the candidates starting at the top being 1 then going down the ballot with 2,3,4,5 etc
Informal votes are just deliberately not filling out the ballot correctly.
At the last election informal votes totaled 101,023 or 3.4% of the vote.

Good question. I’ll decide in the moment

just put LNP before LAB if you wanta new stadium, even if they are the last two numbers on the ballot. by all means put indpeendents, green, trump, one nation whoever first up but just make sure when numbering LIB comes before LAB. otherwise, raygun arena at QSAC

Since there's only one house of parliament like in Queensland, Labor won't be able to do anything unless it's a hung parliament either, just as the LNP can't do anything now.
What i was implying is the Greens can't get into power in Queensland on their own to actually have their policies enforced.
It may take another 50 years for that to change.

I am aware as all Queenslanders are, that there is no upper house. Thank heavens for less politicians to muddy the waters.
The Greens have 2 seats and that is only because they took South Brisbane from Labor at the last election.

South Brisbane: The Greens will be against any Gabba pulldown and possibly refurbishment and school disruption.
That may be the reason they won't be preferencing the LNP this time around as that could be a chance of happening.

The Greens holding on to South Brisbane won't matter one bit in the election result.
If it falls back to either of the major parties, it may matter.

I don't find that a compelling reason to not vote for any minor party since we have preferences, but this isn't the politics thread so I'll leave it there.

But is that getting us better governance than other states? Having an upper house didn't prevent NSW, WA or Tasmania from building new stadiums, or SA from upgrading theirs.

Probably 150 by the time they get the review panel set up.
It should be finished under 100 days after the election if they win.
I doubt they really need that much time anyhow.
I think he has allowed a few weeks off over the Christmas/New Year period in those 100 days.
I would be surprised if he did not have his panel names in place now on the good chance they win the election.
The panel would have to do the majority of their work pre-Christmas.
The first thing they should request is all the files from the Quirk review.

The Kirk review, or the Quirk review?

I admire your optimism. Remember these guys are politicians. They will find ways to invent red tape and draw out the process to 2026 and beyond. If it goes ahead at all.

Conversely though that's why I reckon Crisafulli will make it happen... is there a bigger ego massage than driving past something like this after it's built going "I made that happen"...

The need for legacy is strong...

But he'll do that with youth detention centres already.

Bit of election spam this evening...

I certainly didn't solicit this, and as far as I know I'm not affiliated in any way to the LNP. Or any other political party for that matter.

So as far as I'm concerned they are fair game. Number at the top of screenshot... Pin yer ears back.

With the recent uptick in ALP doing well in the polls this week, I wonder how Crisafulli would handle trying to get a new stadium built if he's in minority government with the Katter Party.
