Hmmmm maybe I won't deface my ballot paper after allWe are heading away this weekend so have just gone to do an early vote.
The LNP dude who was there was wearing a Lions Hat and I said, Go Lions, you going to build us a new Stadium?
He answered “Yep, via Consortium at VIC Park”.
Take from that what you will but it Peaked my interest.
There has certainly been some talk of a consortium built stadium but not necessarily at VIC Park, but it would leave some money in the Kitty for the Government to build a new Train Station at VIC Park to access the facility, sounds like a winner to me.
My Mum always used to draw a Monkey.Hmmmm maybe I won't deface my ballot paper after all

Just do the classic and draw a dick lolMy Mum always used to draw a Monkey.
South Bris could matter tbh. One of the reasons McMahon got elected ahead of Trad in 2020 was the decision from the LNP to preference Greens ahead of ALP on their South Bris ticket, they're not doing that this election. While like many here I’m a single issue voter in this election, I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for slimy pasta man. Thankfully I live in south Brisbane which means my vote effectively doesn’t matter

Not sure my vote means much either. While like many here I’m a single issue voter in this election, I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for slimy pasta man. Thankfully I live in south Brisbane which means my vote effectively doesn’t matter
Means I can wash my hands of whatever nonsense comes with the next years while also cheering on a new stadium
Agree, but Labor is on the nose with lots of people in Queensland.South Bris could matter tbh. One of the reasons McMahon got elected ahead of Trad in 2020 was the decision from the LNP to preference Greens ahead of ALP on their South Bris ticket, they're not doing that this election.
When you say Donkey vote do you mean informal. Just trying to clarify.Despite labour doing everything they can to mess up the olympics I can’t vote for LNP either, looks like it will be an independent or donkey vote for me
Since there's only one house of parliament like in Queensland, Labor won't be able to do anything unless it's a hung parliament either, just as the LNP can't do anything now.The problem with voting Greens is they can't do anything unless it is a hung parliament.
Good question. I’ll decide in the momentWhen you say Donkey vote do you mean informal. Just trying to clarify.
Donkey vote is numbering the candidates starting at the top being 1 then going down the ballot with 2,3,4,5 etc
Informal votes are just deliberately not filling out the ballot correctly.
At the last election informal votes totaled 101,023 or 3.4% of the vote.
just put LNP before LAB if you wanta new stadium, even if they are the last two numbers on the ballot. by all means put indpeendents, green, trump, one nation whoever first up but just make sure when numbering LIB comes before LAB. otherwise, raygun arena at QSACGood question. I’ll decide in the moment
What i was implying is the Greens can't get into power in Queensland on their own to actually have their policies enforced.Since there's only one house of parliament like in Queensland, Labor won't be able to do anything unless it's a hung parliament either, just as the LNP can't do anything now.
I don't find that a compelling reason to not vote for any minor party since we have preferences, but this isn't the politics thread so I'll leave it there. What i was implying is the Greens can't get into power in Queensland on their own to actually have their policies enforced.
It may take another 50 years for that to change.
But is that getting us better governance than other states? Having an upper house didn't prevent NSW, WA or Tasmania from building new stadiums, or SA from upgrading theirs.I am aware as all Queenslanders are, that there is no upper house. Thank heavens for less politicians to muddy the waters.
What else is there?I wish things were going so well in this country that the only issue to vote on is a new stadium build.
What else is there?
Well if the LNP get in there will be at least another 100 days of input into this thread...What else is there?
Probably 150 by the time they get the review panel set up.Well if the LNP get in there will be at least another 100 days of input into this thread...
