We are heading away this weekend so have just gone to do an early vote.
The LNP dude who was there was wearing a Lions Hat and I said, Go Lions, you going to build us a new Stadium?
He answered “Yep, via Consortium at VIC Park”.
Take from that what you will but it Peaked my interest.

There has certainly been some talk of a consortium built stadium but not necessarily at VIC Park, but it would leave some money in the Kitty for the Government to build a new Train Station at VIC Park to access the facility, sounds like a winner to me.

Hmmmm maybe I won't deface my ballot paper after all 🤔

Damn, he has memorised the flow chart.

PROMPT: go lions
Response: yes, we are building one at Vic Park, vote for us no.1

PROMPT: go broncos
Response: we won't be building any new stadiums for AFL or cricket

Just do the classic and draw a dick lol
I just voted in a by-election and someone had already printed a bunch of dicks on mine.

While like many here I’m a single issue voter in this election, I just couldn’t bring myself to vote for slimy pasta man. Thankfully I live in south Brisbane which means my vote effectively doesn’t matter

Means I can wash my hands of whatever nonsense comes with the next years while also cheering on a new stadium

South Bris could matter tbh. One of the reasons McMahon got elected ahead of Trad in 2020 was the decision from the LNP to preference Greens ahead of ALP on their South Bris ticket, they're not doing that this election.

Nah I don’t get that vibe. People are very happy with McMahon; and the Labor woman doesn’t really have the same broad appeal that Amy does (shes a doctor, plus her campaign photo choice is… odd to say the least).

Party preferencing is also not the big deal some make it out to be. Not many people actually pay attention to how to vote cards; and those that do are not the demographic living in the south Brisbane electorate.

Not sure my vote means much either.
I live in the Bulimba Electorate and it has been a Labour stronghold for a long time.

Agree, but Labor is on the nose with lots of people in Queensland.
People need to blame someone when their financial position has been eroded away the last few years due to inflation.
That is usually the sitting government no matter which party it is.
On South Brisbane there was a swing of 8.9% to gain that seat and Trad was being continually put in a bad light by the LNP.
The problem with voting Greens is they can't do anything unless it is a hung parliament.
So are the people that changed their mind in 2020 going to stick with the Greens. Who knows

Despite labour doing everything they can to mess up the olympics I can’t vote for LNP either, looks like it will be an independent or donkey vote for me
When you say Donkey vote do you mean informal. Just trying to clarify.

Donkey vote is numbering the candidates starting at the top being 1 then going down the ballot with 2,3,4,5 etc
Informal votes are just deliberately not filling out the ballot correctly.
At the last election informal votes totaled 101,023 or 3.4% of the vote.
