If money was the issue and Gaff wanted to stay, the Eagles would get him the money. Via a Dusty style Puma deal if necessary.

If he wanted to stay and live in Perth post footy the Eagles would most certainly get him a well paid gig with a sponsor or friendly organisation.

If he's leaving because he wants to be back in his home city and state, then taking the best paying job possible isn't being money hungry, its being sensible.

Might be wishful thinking, but this thought has crossed my mind also. Without knowing the cap situation, it's impossible to say, but Hogan out, and Gaff and May in, would be a great result.

I love Hogan, but both Gaff and May fill our biggest holes.

Still think North most likely though.

I don’t think North is an absolute guarantee - I could see someone stepping in last minute - but agreed he decided months ago he was moving back to Melb.

He said on radio he hasn't made a decision yet (doubtful, I think he's gone personally but just waited till after the GF to tell everyone)

Assuming he hasn't actually made a decision, West Coast obviously cannot pay Gaff the same as some other clubs.

However, does he take less money to stay with the premiers and have a better chance at playing in another grand final quickly, or does he take big bucks and go to a North or St Kilda team where he is unlikely to see another grand final before his career is over.

He is gone i think. Before today I would been annoyed to see him go (same a bit with Lycett) but now, if he wants to go for whatever reason... go.

I think the midfield have showed, that while Gaff leaving would be a loss, they will be fine. Sheed really stepped up.. does he if Gaff is in the team? Is it a Priddis/Redden situation?
