Tuohy and duncan are cooked.

And if we are making changes (apart from talls) mannagh should be first in.

They are and yet I could still name half the side as being worse than them.
Both stay for mine. HBF/Wing is not the issue.

Atkins, Blicavs, Bowes, Clark etc in the midfield are the issue. A couple are worth persisting with for future gain. If Blicavs doesn't ruck then he can go. Atkins can as well. MOC, Mullin.

why are there so many complaints about Clark after that? I can think of 50 issues before even going after a 19 year old first year player.

I think it’s because he was taken at pick 8 and hasn’t shown anything to justify the the hype. Especially hard because he’s a a small mid that doesn’t really have a strong unique skill to his bow to seperate him (which small mids require to make it. The lack of composure is danger signs. This is why it’s different to ‘hope’ for a player with a unique talent/athleticism. Bartel, Kelly, SJ others sll showed a spark in their first few games and we are yet to see it from Jhye.

It’s accentuated because we are crying out for a gun young mid and he’s not stepping up. At 19 understandable. He has time on his side. But posters questioning his ceiling/future role based on what we see is also valid.

There are a bigger issues than Jhye btw.

I think what was meant was that Scott was not going to drop Hawk as he is a legend, despite being unable to contest anything other than a pass hitting him on the chest on the lead, so now it gives more opportunity for Neale.

You are expecting far too much from a kid that’s playing essentially his first season with **** all support around him , best to focus the attention on the other more concerning issues of the list rather than a 19 year old kid that you’re hoping will be the saviour of the list

Clark’s lack of real pace is a worry in view of his size.

I thought he was scared and ineffectual.

I dont know about "scared" but after being flogged in the ruck (never again I hope)..he fought his way back into the game and showed some grit that has been absent for a while.

He will be OK.

The older guys deserved to have a full crack at it. We gave them that. But it's time to recognise where we're at and carefully expose the talented younger players we have.

Conway comes in to ruck. Either Neale for Hawkins or SDK forward and O'Sullivan in. Then at least one of Humphries and Knevitt. Clark plays every week.

It's not throwing out all the older players but blending a few more kids in consistently.

I thought SDK was close to our best. His ruck work was ok and he gave us a real presence around the ground. On tonight's effort he is our best ruckman. I'm not sold on Conway. I'd rest Hawkins for a month and bring him back for some easy home games to give him a chance to reach 800 goals. It's got to the point that he is dragging the team down. He deserves a send off at some stage and we can afford that now that we are not contending.

Yes and no.

The midfield is the issue for sure but our next biggest issue (apart from our inability to apply forward pressure) is our lack of transition defence between the arcs and duncan and tuohy are the worst two because they cant cover the ground at speed defensively.
Mannagh and knevitt must come in because thr former has the speed to apply pressure and the latter has the big tank to fill holes defensively.

I dont think anyones celebrating its more saying its better for the side hawk transitions out now and scott never would have dropped him but him being unavailable is a blessing in disguise.
