So far, the rundown on our ins is:

Higgins - lacking match fitness, should not have played, back to Willi son.

Minson - lacking brains, may need to take Skippers spot while Rough and Cordy develop.

Callan - doing ok.

Wood - did not play.

Meanwhile, Griff while seemingly fit has shanked almost everything. And Johnson should consider this his retirement match. The way Shaw is working him over is embarrassing. Hahn is also ridiculously slow and out of touch. With 1/4 of our players not up to it, we were never in this. Good work, MC!

Leaders - Johno, Gia, Boyd... dead set useless. Gia was better in the 3rd Qtr. He plays his best footy in the midfield. Play him there or not at all.

Boyd has horrible hands tonight. Everyone is fumbling.

So frustrating. Definitely need a list clear out at the end of the finals (next weekend...)

Seriously exposed for lack of pace. Hahn, Johnno, Cross, Higgins very noticeable. Gilbee, Hargrave, Gia, Addison, Minson, Callan all suspect too.

If we are being honest, Shaun Higgens has been an embarrassment all year. I am a very angry ant right now and may regret this post down the line, but at this moment I cannot think of a bulldog player who has been this soft (including McMahon).

I think Eade and the MC have a lot to answer to. Johnno doesn't look a 100% and as I've said before, Higgins shouldn't have played again this year. He looks slower than Cross, without a ticker to actually go in and get the ball. Very frustrating.

We'll go down to Sydney or Carlton next week unless Eade and the MC actually pick fit players and blokes who'll have a go.

Hargrave and Gilbee are both very lucky as well, they would be dropped in any other team who had some fit players to bring into our backline.

Seriously, who cares..

Out in straight sets because this team is riddled with injuries and pathetic form:thumbsdown:

Get some heart over summer:mad:
Summer = quotes from players saying 'we're ready to go the next step' 'we won't take 2nd best anymore' 'team first' 'hard ball' 'best hardest training ever'

Season = soft, fumble, don't run hard, make soft calls at match committee, go with the same blokes again and again.

We look like short people out there! Old Eade and his one trick, putting Lake up forward. Waits until the game is over to make the move.

Griffen is easily best on for us so far. Spectre, dont get sucked in to what the commentators are saying about his kicking efficiency. Most of his kicks have just been clearing the ball.

Johnson should not play. I have no idea why they have had him on Shaw again. They know how fast Shaw is, and how slow Johnno is. Its just stupid selections.

Article on Higgins in the paper today said about his thyroid problem, couldn't get his heart rate under 100, even at rest. He shouldn't have played again this year. Give him time to get over it completely. That would be playing on his mind, as well as his body, a lot.

Tim Callan has been alright. His opponents havent had much of it when he has been on them.

Hahn is just crap.

Doesn't sem to be much hard running from us. Everyone just seems to be plodding along like they are on a Sunday stroll.

No valid reasons for Johnson and Hahn to continue next year.
Everitt should play next week, predict he won't.
Just seem aimless.

Fair enough, Igloo. Wasn't having a massvie dig at Griff, just making the observation that either he's A) not fit and hence not kicking straight, B) not getting a chop out from others in the midfield, hence constantly having guys hanging off him or C) not having anything to kick to, which is the scenario I am most likely to agree with. His endeavour has been great, unlike the majority.

Agree with all of your other points. Would have loved to see Jones, Hooper, Moles and even Everitt out there instead of Johno, Hahn, Higgins and Minson - would have at least injected some speed and desperation.

Without Griffin we would be stuffed. Hopefully Eade will take him off and rest him for next week, no use keeping him on for the last 10 minutes to get injured.

I reckon you are spot on with options B and C :D
Definately wanna see Moles and Everitt back in, as you suggested. Maybe Jones and Hooper.
Drop Johnson, Hahn and possibly Higgins next week. Although i dont think Higgins is soft, IMO is still having problems with injury/illness. Its a shame, but i think he should be left out for the rest of the year.

Reckon we should send an email to the rest of the playing group that they're there to play with him, not spectate as he plays by himself?

And with Higgins, the whole approach was idiotic. You have a player that has struggled with a disease that has almost made his heart explode for half the season, he's half fit, you drop him into VFL for one week and then make him play finals? If I was losing weight by the minute and my heart was going 100 beats at rest, I'd be playing below my best too! Should have been sidelined for the rest of the season without a second though. They're lucky he didn't croak out there.
