Shouldn't be too long before a Gather Round fixture leak drops?

Here hoping/Predicting:

Thursday Night
Port vs Collingwood: AO
Friday
North Melbourne vs Sydney: Norwood Oval (T)
Adelaide vs Hawthorn: AO Friday Night
Saturday
GWS vs West Coast: Barossa/Mt Barker
Melbourne vs Fremantle: AO (Twilight)
Carlton vs St Kilda: AO (Night)
Sunday
Bulldogs vs Gold Coast: Barossa/Mt Barker
Essendon vs Brisbane: Norwood Oval
Geelong vs Richmond: Adelaide Oval

I expect North to be at Mount Barker after a game at Norwood, and to bring up the hattrick of being belted by Brisbane as gather round opposition.
Im not sure what region gets the reginal game this year. im pretty sure one of the ovals in the Barossa is being upgraded.. not sure if its for 2025 or 2026 though.

Considerations:
GR is the week before Easter - Bris v Pies is Thurs, Nth v Blues on GF.
With that in mind…
Thurs 7.30pm Port v Bris AO
Fri 4.30pm Nth v Rich NO
Fri 7.30pm Pies v Cats AO
Sat 1.30pm Swans v St K Barossa
Sat 4.30pm WC v GWS Mt B
Sat 7.30pm Hawks v Blues AO
Sun 12.30pm Dees v GC Barossa
Sun 3.20pm Freo v WB NO
Sun 6.10pm Crows v Ess AO

Highly likely Hawthorn will get both SA clubs twice next year, could it be Port v Hawthorn at AO for gather round? Or will they want that to be a stand alone game

The SA teams will more than likely be a thurs and Frid night games. no way the Crows get a twilight game in Gather round

Why do they not use this Gather round for the Showdown? National Friday night broadcast. This is an ideal time to promote the showdown and stand it out from all other matches in gather round.

Why is this not being done?
So both Crows and Power can fill the ground in different matches. Two sellouts, or close to it, rather than one.

2 Guaranteed sellouts.. thats why it isnt being done.

Set up for a Port vs Collingwood game i think.

Surely Brisbane make their Adelaide Oval Gather Rd debut.
Melbourne will get shunted to the suburbs and Essendon should but won't.

One item I wish they'd amend - The Friday night double header.
The AO night game needs to start 30 minutes later than it has in the last two years.
This is so people that attend the twilight game at Norwood have enough time to travel to Adelaide Oval before the first bounce.

I'd have the twilight game at Norwood starting at 4:40pm (SA time) and the Adelaide Oval game starting at 8:10pm (SA time).

Marquee AO games:
Adelaide V Collingwood - Thursday night
Port V Brisbane - Friday night
Geelong V Sydney - Sunday twilight

That would be the fairest way to do it but there is no benefit to the Crows or Port.

They are currently getting a extra home game each a season with the way it currently works.

If I was a WA, QLD or NSW side I would be screaming for a extra home game each year

Surely the third edition of this great rivalry gets its chance to be on the big stage, Sunday 1pm at Central oval, Port Augusta

So just another round to add to the compromised fixture.
This league is such an amateur comp.

The only fair way to run the comp and fixturing is playing everyone twice but that will NEVER happen. Could you imagine a 34 game season? not a chance. a 17 game fixture is way too short.

Dees will get a home game against Adelaide or Port Adelaide, followed by a 5 hour break and an away game against either Port Adelaide or Adelaide.
That was actually the only time this year where our boys showed a bit of character - the Adelaide oval double / “the business trip”

After that our season went to the dogs.

when tassie comes in make it a 18 game season, everyone once.
make up for it by having a top 8 which is 1v8, 2v7, 3v6 and 4v 5, BUT all finals games (otherthan grand final) are actually best of 3 series). no pre-finals bye. you earn byes by winning your series in a 2-0 sweep.
so AFL lose home and away games but gain finals game. finals game will all be sellouts.

change my mind

Have a genuine pre season comp with 10 million to the winner. That gives you the extra few weeks of games.

Lyndoch gets a game next year.

Odd that's not in a more tourist-friendly town like Tanunda.
