I like the timing of the free weekend.
We have 13 days to recover from the trip to Subiaco before playing Essendon.

Garry Davidson should've checked the draw more carefully before commenting.Yesterday on K-ROCK news he mentioned it was going to be tough playing in Perth on the saturday night, then backing up the following Friday against essendon.

I'm with you there the two interstate games in a row will be very tough.

I would back Geelong beating Sydney at the SCG next year as the Swans will be going through a rebuilding phase and we play the smaller SCG ground pretty well as a rule.

The West Coast game at Subiaco will be a tough ask but we have had the wood on them over the past few seasons so I would still be hopeful of beating them over there. We also have a good record at Subiaco Oval, so we shouldn't be daunted by playing them at the so called "Fortress Of Pain".

Go Cats!!

I've seen a few people suggest a road trip to Canberra. What a damn good idea. Let's get some booze, a minibus and as many Cat fans as possible and run amok in our nations capital.

So who's up for it?

Count Jen and I in... pending her possible "bun in the oven" situation, for which we have clues now, but nothing is for certain (until next week). :D

The Kangaroos game at Manuka Oval falls on the weekend of her birthday, and a road trip to Canberra would be a perfect excuse to celebrate. :D :D

So count us in, Catman... for now. :)

Cheers,
William

OK, your on the list you_idiot, but considering the game is not until late July next year, we might not end up going. It's too early to make anything definite.

Too true... same goes for us! :D

We'll see how she goes as the date approaches.

Cheers,
William

You email addy gave it away, Joel! ;)

Count me in!!! Actually, my father is a group-tour operator, and has plenty-o-contacts everywhere, in particular in our Nation's capital. So he sure can organise travel up/back/accomodation et al. I have a sneaking suspicion that I should still be on mid-semester holidays at the time, hopefully... so for sure! Head up Friday night, Game, then boozing all night. So it could be great.

Im up for it for sure. I had all intentions on going to sydney or perth next year, but Canberra would be great! Would only coat about $100-120, plus meals, ticket etc.. not too bad.

Only about $100-120. Bargain!!!!

So your tour operator Loz, it's official. ;)

As for Uni, if i remember this year and last year, the 2nd semester starts about the week of Round 16 or Round 17, we play the Colberoos in Round 17 so we wont miss much, there will be no major assignments due or anything like that.

I went to Canberra for a yr12 trip 12 years ago & it was the most boring place on earth. It was also around July & it snowed.

We'll be celebrating a Cats victory so as long there's somewhere to celebrate it then I don't care how boring it is!!!

But I wouldn't want to be spending too long there, a little too cold for me.

Haha, yeah, I will be the middle man in between you guys and my father.. but i'll take all the credit! Of course we are going to have to recruit more people to take up the challenge as well. I dunno precisely the amount required, but I would think it would need to be 30 people in order to get a good price for a coach (4-5 star of course!). So get cracking with posing the idea to family/friends. But it should be a riot.

Yeah Catman, what really is the first week of uni, honestly! I'm thinking the same right now about week 13... wonder if i'll turn up!

Week 13, that's study week, isn't it? I'm never sure. I don't take much notice of the weeks, just when assignments are due and when exams are.

OK, I'm sure I could get a few people interested. We should put up a post on Cats Claw. There's bound to be enough people interested on there.

Sounds like a plan then! You seem to be a good deputy Joel ;)

If we can get some tentative numbers in a couple of months time, then we can work out the rough price, which of course is determined by getting the minimum numbers. Of course if we explain to people, the more people, the less per head it will be. If we fall short, I'm sure Jan might be interested and maybe only a handful of the Cheersquad committee would go anyways, so dunno, we should start the ball rolling with letting people think about it. What ever happens, we'd all go out Saturday night and sleep on the coach all day coming home. We'd have to have a Geelong pick up first, then a Melbourne pick up, I aint going to Geelong just get picked up then taken straight through Melbourne again!

I could take over my Dad's business, yet ;)

I'll keep pestering father about some of the issues etc.. and maybe discuss a bit more of the arrangements.

SO WATCH THIS SPACE... its only, what 10 months away.. probably want to book start of next year some time, id reckon.
