Amazing what a bit of much deserved media attention can do.

What's sad is that people are such sheep that they feel we must be a threat, simply because the media say so.

Hence threads like this.

No whats sad, and the point of this thread, is how the media have no clue about footy but get paid handsomely to write rubbish - they over react in both directions.

The cats werent as bad as the media (or you for that matter) said they were last year and earlier this year, and indeed theyre not as good as theyre saying they are now.

Theyre a good developing unit with a great backline, solid accountable midfield. Need a couple of kids to become genuine stars, and a key forward, and theyre thereabouts.

But only thereabouts.

Listening to SEN this morning was amusing.
They've been in an similar situation to this in 2002 , you'd want to be keeping a lid on it right now but that doesn't appear to be happening.

listening to Brainless Billy this morning was puke material, had to turn off in the end, they are waaaaaaaaaaay ahead of themselves. Wallsy on 'on the couch' said that tonight, they haven't done enough just yet

Wallsy also wrote that he would rate us if we beat essendon, according to him you can only be rated if u beat saints or bris in bris

Something that a whole 0 teams have dones so far

Bomber thompson seems to make a lot of big statements, often a little prematurally. This whole respect thing is fine; but like an earlier poster said, he should focus on getting the wins and not telling everyone they need respect.
Also saying things like "We are better than st kilda" probably wasn't too smart..
Anyway the cats are definately on the rise, whether they are good enough to beat port this week is another question entirely. IMO they are good enough to slip into the 8.

Ah, earlier this year we got beaten by nearly 10 goals by your favourite team.

We were at rock bottom at the end of Round 2, not seen us play that badly in 20 years.

Injuries. Theres not many teams that can do without a number of players in their top 10 these days.

I guess, although there is still no excuse for getting beaten by 10 goals.

1) He isn't a Geelong Supporter

2) He is talking about the Carlton game, where Geelong had 12 players injured (and Graham was one of them), and didn't have anyone over 25 or anyone with 100 games experience.

Rather loose use of quotation marks.

Well he claimed after the wizzy cup that Geelong were better than st kilda. or did i miss hear / read that.
His team got pumped by 10 goals the next week.
My point wasn't about quoting Thompson, it was about earning respect by winning games, and not by telling everyone how good you are.
I also said some positive things about the catters, who as a team I quite like, which you chose not to hilight..why??

Personally I am not that huge a fan of thompson; don't really think he is that smart, but thats just me.

If it was overtly wrong, do correct him.

I believe Thompson said that our youngsters were as good as St. Kilda's.

Don't think he has ever said we were a better side, that was Paul Chapman.

Stand to be corrected, but as i said, i believe he said that our youngsters were as good as St. Kilda's (which is silly enough), not that we were a better team.

Paul Chapman said we were a better team than St. Kilda and Melbourne though.

Yeah fair call phat man. I think i confused myself.
Anyways Go Saints and Go Cats!

BTW I reckon Cat in the Hat does as much for Geelong as BonisGood does for the Saints...
Its great having guys like that on your side

Spot on.

Every team has one though, but sadly ours is more prolific than most.
