Interesting.

Been a lot of talk this week that we're still very confident about a flag this year, and that "we're the danger" etc.

With the K-Rock intel as well, any chance Sav's made his decision and the clubs decided to that he's not going to apart of those proceedings?

Or, they've decided that if we are truly trying to win a flag, that Sav's not going to help us there?

Just all feels like too much of a coincidence if it isn't.

So to me this was the most predictable ins and outs all year (other than the funny managed for SAV). Love dempsey and Mullin for the future but we’re the logical outs and 2E rest from the celebration of last week perfect. Kolo and and SAV out makes sense.

Sub I would say would be Mullin. Again I think dempsey best served by full games. I wouldn’t have complained it was in afl 22 but then next best for him is vfl. Not sub.

I think Oisin power and speed might put him in the mix of a good sub alongside o Henry and Rohan (and tanner) as the only successful ones to date. Of course 2E would be great sub too. But should have time to drain the Guinness.

Without wanting to read too much into emergencies (although that is our purpose of BF). Is there a story in the fact that Dempsey stayed as emergency and menegola got “dropped” as emergency?

Would have been easy to just say dempsey needs a full game so let’s just be clear he is in vfl. Don’t think people would have blinked. I still think he will have lay vfl but they chose to leave him in pecking order over menegola

Am I reading too much into this?

I thought Ollie Henry competed really strong as an undersized CHF last week whilst Jez was out... With Cameron back, maybe it's time for Ollie to get a run as sub since he has been playing week in, week out for a while now.

He obviously has shown he can come in and impact late in games.

Last week he won me over a bit in terms of staying in the 22. Glad he gets a shot to show it against a decent team and with Jezza back.

Otherwise I am in your camp. He becomes a sub in our best 23. Rohan has to be in 22 and I think at pointy end Henry is a good sub.

But this week I am keep to see how Mullin goes as sub. As we have posted before it needs to be a player with the body, power and mindset to be impact without having to work into the game.

Mullin might tick that box too? I am keen to see it just in case Henry does enough to convince MC he can be in 22 with all forwards in

Except for Tuohy - who is still playing really good football

So ive only got one dissappointment this week - him not being in the team

Hard to find who he replaces. Might make a useful sub? Bews might struggle to get back in. A fit C.Guthrie is the only real change of significance I'd be making to that 22.

I wonder if Esava is really managed or they’re just trialling not having him in the side now we’re back to a full back line.

The other way to look at this team is the broader squad including emergencies.

I think if you replace Dempsey and Mullin with Guthrie and Bews you probably get our best 26 - finals squad… if all available best 23 come from that squad

I think then we have Dempsey, Mullin, Knevitt and either menegola/parf/Ceglar as the 4 to round out 30 man squad - only needed if injuries…

To me that 26 is as good as the 26 we had last year (and top 30 is better again than top 30 last year).

So to steal a phrase from another poster “no excuses” from here. It is now just a matter of form, cohesion and injury (or is that an excuse?). On paper we are primed for a run to back to back!!

Nah, going too well.
