I don’t think any of us think we are successful: it’s guys kicking a leather bag of air.

We have a somewhat strange time understanding why a grown man could be so inept at accepting various results in what is a sport and keeps trying to explain it away as coincidences, a series of freak occurrences, and to this day can’t take his medicine when he gets a prediction so blatantly wrong

Says one of the posters who along with others has spent years trying to argue Richmond only won 3 flags because the competition mysteriously and conveniently became weak from 2017-20.

Bloke tries to kick a cat and finds it is a hornet's nest. :tearsofjoy:

I think you are confusing me with someone else.

I don’t think you were winners because anything was weak. In fact I have actually gone into bat for you against both Geelong and non-Geelong fans who have said things like ‘2020 was a Covid flag etc etc’ and I don’t think there was anything unearned or weak about them. There’s only so many ways to say ‘you had a mighty team’ before I give up because you refuse to read it (I’m starting to suspect you lack the necessary skills)

Wake up to yourself.

- Unique success

- Unique ground

- Unique monopoly of country lifestyle

- Unique F/S picks

- Unique ground dimensions

- Unique high win % ratio at home ground

- Unique geographic location getting the benefits of both interstate and vic clubs

Must be just a coincidence I guess. You don’t have to be Sherlock to figure out wtf is going on.

You got one of those things right, at least (the first one)

Literally your second best player of the last 35 years was a father son pick 😂

It’s not Geelong’s fault that the best players you put around him - which at one point included 2 other father-son picks all shot out of the same father, by the way and a third who would have been if he wasn’t delisted after a few games - were shit. He got to play with four other father-sons too.

Just seems like another pretty pathetic excuse to me. ‘Boo hoo, both our clubs played by exactly the same rules, you guys cheated though when you played by them because our club was pissed on by every team it came up against for the better part of a generation.’

Unique monopoly of country lifestyle, that’s the one I like the most 😂😂😂

Because EVERYONE likes the country. Everyone.

It’s why roughly 20 per cent of Victorians live in the country. And of those 20 per cent, around 25 per cent are around the Geelong area 😂😂

No one likes the city. Apart from the 5 million people in it. And the country people around it who can choose to play for a city club if they wish and still live in the country 🤣

Yeah it’s a monopoly alright.

Hawks will run over those tired legs and poor Holmes probably won’t know which side of the posts he wants to kick it out on the full with the pressure.
They’re going to be exhausted heading into the prelim with back to back two week breaks. How could they possibly then play a game a week after? That’s such a gruelling schedule.

“Old man Holmes” especially will be tired after his 10 coaches votes performance on Thursday. Grandpa Mannagh and Stengle as well.

What's Freo's excuse for achieving nothing?

a few factors.

Not a lot of concessions. You really cant Bag out Freos coach Gerard Neesham choosing a lot of Claremont blokes. He won WAFL flags with claremont in 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1993. Ben Allan and Dale Kickett won WAFL premierships in Claremont under Neesham. No different To inaugual coach Graham Cornes in 1991 choosing His Glenelg boys. Chris McDermott and Tony McGuinness were in that Glenelg 1985 SANFL premiership side that Beat North Adelaide. Cornes was Glenelgs coach from 1985 until 1990.

Bad Trading and Bad drafting didnt help either. Just being Poorly run didnt help. All you need to do is Look at the chris connolly coaching era of 2002-2007. Only made finals in 2003 and 2006. That side should of made finals in 2004 and 2005 too. Now you wonder why I savoured every final under Ross Lyon from 2012 until 2015.

And some luck didnt go our way.

Your best player of your next gen will be a ball butcher. Picture us with Taranto right now but with no picks.

Lawd have mercy, time for you to switch teams.

Sometimes the QF to Prelim bye isn’t a good thing. Careful what you wish for. Geelong especially haven’t been great with it on the whole.

You guys had to play against the 3peat hawks. They played against the baby 08 version.

If Freo played the 07-11 Geelong teams no doubt you would snagged a couple of flags, easy.

You're conceding Cats will play Hawks in the GF? That's the only place we can meet between now and then

Oooh that’s worrying.

We can only hope the best player of our next generation’s biggest flaw is the same one that has always been the knock on Patrick Dangerfield

Haven’t been great with it despite winning the premiership 4 out of 6 times they have won a QF this century, and won 5 out of 6 PFs after winning QFs this century.

You really don’t apply any critical thinking to your posts, do you?

I wished I had your confidence but Nah I disagree.

3 peat hawks of 2013-5 had depth every where. They beat 3 non vic sides in those grand finals though.

Geelongs 2007-2011 side was strong.

I would even say their 2013-2020 side were solid. Could of won a flag in 2016 or 2017 or 2019 or 2020. I know your gonna be biased as you are a tigers fan. The richmond footy club peak of 2017-2020, cost geelong a couple of flags. The winner of that cats vs tigers prelim in 2019 was dead certain to beat gws in that 2019 grand final.

Mind you, the cats best chance was 2016. Had the cats beat the swans in 2016, I am dead certain they would of beaten the dogs.
