Hawkins bumped his opponent from behind exactly the same way Rough did last night. Although he didnt mark it it was play on whereas Rough was called push in the back and the mark disallowed. BS decision last night.

Just saw it and thought exactly that - identical to Roughs but different result. Rough decision was absolutely rubbish but typical of umpiring these days - looking for frees rather than waiting for the obvious ones to happen.

As good as Aust Rules is, it must be the most unprofessionally officiated sport ever at such a high level. It beggars belief that players should watch Friday night games to see which indiscretions will be " cracked down on " for the weekend. What other sport does that ?

What is alarming is that it is accepted as a general rule. How many times do you hear commentators saying "teams should we weary of "this" this weekend"... baffling really.

Gws have gone backwards this year...

Can't see them winning it. Hoping for Adelaide to do the job. Haven't done anything in two decades and it keeps the swans and cats at bay.

I don't think they have gone backwards, nor forwards..

The real question is; why are they currently under preforming with the huge amount of talent the list has.
Although it does seem, that they can't handle pressure.

Sydney will beat Essendon, Melbourne and west coast by 50+ at the SCG week 1 of finals. They are The best side in the comp and have been since round 7.

You are right. Im just hoping that they stumble in an elimination. Many teams make remarkable comebacks in the season and often fail at the elimination final.

Swans fluked it against essendon at the scg earlier.

Anyone can win an elimination, especially given the week off. Sydney disadvantaged.

Clarkson has always said that a team's percentage often indicates their season. Gws have definitely gone backwards this year. They lack fluency and crumble on the big stage.

Unless they recover and make the gf.

The week off will do them good when they face the cats again. Will it be at kp?

GWS are a bunch of soft hacks. Dont see why kelly is rated highly hes done jack. Any chance we can trade for dangerfield. Hes the player we need.
Yep a crapload of downhill skiiers not suited for hard tough finals footy. Geelong have brought it tonight and the giants havent been close. Were is the mongrel in this team?.

Based on that notion then the entire league has gone backwards!

I'm not sure on the ground, but they'll be playing the Giants (small supporter base) anyway so it'll be better to have it at KP - you'd think?

He's had a quiet night but he is still one of, if not the best young midfielder in the AFL. The kid is incredibly talented

The Cats will certainly be sooking it up and begging / demanding a home final.

They know they are not as good anywhere else, so they are desperately trying to convince the AFL to give them a helping hand with a home final.

The sad thing is, with other clubs it's always a "Home state advantage, not a home ground advantage". With Geelong, the AFL will probably cave in. May as well let the Cats choose their favourite umpires as well...

Hey we can't complain with the MCG If Waverley was still around we'd certainly be pushing games be played there too.
