Having Mitchell, Priddis & Petrie retiring being interviewed by bazil zempilas just goes to show what a joke the commentary team has become

I dunno how to link other teams threads but some fluffy on the swans board just said McVeigh is their "HODGE..."

Golly what a great laugh to finish the weekend
Not sure why you find this a bit of a laugh. The guy played 300 games and is worthy of some respect. The fact they refer to Hodge also shows they have a lot of respect for him. Others even said they prefer Hodge.

No team has a HODGE. Hawks were very fortunate, indeed. Everyone else could only dare to dream. All they can do is hope to find a leader of some sort.

I am never one to defend the swine, as you all know, but allow them their moment for a guy who played 300 and was their leader.

Fair call. I think it is BigFooty.com. You sift through so much garbage that sometimes you simply get caught up in it.

I think it's because Hodge was one of the best big game players ever, and his best was when a Grand Final was on the line.

McVeigh on the other hand ...

There can never be another Hodge but let them grasp whatever they like to make them feel better. At least they had a leader who played 300. For anyone but Hawthorn, that is the best they can do.

I actual think they'll reserve that for the GF.
I believe it's Adelaide's to lose now.
Pretty underwhelming finals series so far.

The only thing Adelaide need to be ready for is Danger to full forward. Danger in the midfield and crows win. Danger at FF is the only threat.

So who gets him?

McVeigh is too vanilla to be called a swine

Got this exclusive picture of Ken Hinkley's contract talks with the Suns:

Looking forward to Kochy hammering people for moving voiding their contract thus morally disallowing him from poaching a contracted coach

Like Clarko

It would seem like a good opening for returning hero Stewy Dew

Would make sense for Dew to go there actually - he has had ample chances for a head coaching gig but is seemingly not interested in a rebuilding/struggling club.

Best quote on the North board:

"The irony is we may land a player at a fraction of the price that plays a major role in our premierships and still have cash to burn."

A North fan. Premierships. Pluralised. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

How does one play a role in premierships retrospectively?

Adelaide struggle with fast-movement through the midfield and their mids are very poor defensively.

If Geelong can breakeven with Jacobs, they're a good chance.

Sat preliminaries have had that time slot since hawks v Port in 14

2012 even. When we got dicked by getting the Saturday twilight slot vs the Crows instead of our rightfully earned Friday night spot.

Chris Scott did an Clarkson against the Swans. Starting Dangerfield at Full forward reminded me of Hodgey starting there in the 2014 Granny and again in 2015.

Another day, another trite and boring article from Chris Judd. When you consider some of the good writers that have left The Age, only to leave people like Judd behind - it's just bizarre decision making form Fairfax.
