I feel they will attempt to have another crack at it. I just can’t see how they get over the line though. Other teams will keep improving and they will keep dropping off.

And that’s after considering they were found out in finals again this year.

Only way they got close in 2020 was the reduced qtrs and season.

I don’t know how much they get paid. Back in the day with Karmichael hunt it was 7 figures. I have asked Gold Coast and they say the deals are done directly with the afl. There are a dozen or so multicultural ambassadors too. I would be guessing

The AFL $wans benefitted from this for years, Goodes, Kennedy, Keiren Jack, etc... apparently had $300k per annum added to their salaries, meaning the club could reduce their salary cap payments to use on others.

Richmond did pay a price. They gave up last years first pick so have wasted 12 months developing a player like Max Holmes and also lost Jack Higgins.
