I can't see how Richmond deserve compensation for Chol. He only qualified as a UFA because they delisted him a couple years back. Stupid system

I am okay with it - if Richmond gets a 3rd round pick for Chol it means the system is so stupid that we get an end of 2nd round pick for TOB surely.

Ive had tigger supporters telling me that both CCJ and Chol are worth late firsts.
That we are looking to trade our first for Daniel Rioli....

This is the sort of gold that Trade Radio needs

As boring as trade week is, I’m pretty okay with the trading system following the laws of the land.
When the minimum salary is ~US$1M and the average is US$8.5M people more inclined to move around.

I thought DFA = zero compensation?

Certainly when Moore was rumoured to be looking around that was raised as a(n extra) reason to keep him.
Different things.

If someone is delisted during a list change period, then they can be obtained by another club. The delisting club gets no compo

If a player is delisted and re-rookied, they become a lifetime Unrestricted Free Agent, like Moore. If they do leave down the track, they leave as an UFA and the club gets compo

Richmond people would say the same for Moore.

The difference being that they'd be wrong, considering Moore was one of the best performed forwards this year across 20 games and Chol was average or below over 10.

Edit: and before you say "But Chol plays in the ruck"

Even if there is a secret 'herbs and spices' approach to FA compensation, the AFL should be slanting the weighting of their decisions to the lesser teams to enhance their chances of regeneration.
We should (but we know we won't) get end of first round for TOB if the AFL was fair dinkum based on Chol's compensation.

Not in our wildest dreams.

Mooney holding that ball in one hand as he confidently strutted back to kick A POINT 😂😂😂

What I do miss is that we had some absolute hard nuts in that side - Guerra, Ladson, Brownie, Osborne, Sewell - no wonder we garnered the unsociable hawks tag

Osborne was one of my favs , had a cracking finals series.

Brownie playing out of weight division in the 2nd half , Guerra's cool and calm head under pressure .

A lot if those players slide under the gaurd that too , probably still do too .

So apparently, according to Max gawn, Melbourne is "just going to do it again," so Melbourne based fans can see a flag live.
