Arden Street a ‘perfect’ option for a boutique stadium, says North Melbourne CEO Carl Dilena

NORTH Melbourne CEO Carl Dilena has suggested Arden Street would be the “perfect” venue for a boutique stadium, which could potentially become the home of women’s footy in Victoria.

Otherwise known as "We want new facilities, too, but can't afford them. AFL, here's a half-assed idea that will let you pay for our new toys. What do you think?"

Shameless.

This is just North trying to sound innovative in a piss poor attempt to remain relevant now that they have no public figures around the club.

Arden Street was a soulless place even when North had a decent team in the 1970's, and was drawing crowds, even though they were still small.

It is much worse now, only fit for 5,000 people!

Transport to that part of town is an absolute mess. Terrible idea to put a stadium there. There are multiple trains and trams that run to the MCG and yet still thousands of people drive there. Imagine a day when there is a game on at both the boutique stadium and the MCG - it would be a nightmare for motorists. Get stuffed, Norf. Go work out a better deal for Emptyhad.

They can build the women's stadium at Arden St once the Roos finish their transition to Hobart.

To be fair, the North Melbourne board doesn't understand that more than 5000 supporters would ever show up for a game.

Is Marcus Bontempelli an AFL Superstar? Has the potential to become one but not just yet. Talk about the struggling AFL media and some Foxsport rubbish.

At the moment the media is fapping over the Dogs for moving their assistants around to different roles. Aren't the Dogs so innovative and amazing !!!

Wonder where Bevo got that idea from?

Wonder where Bevo got that idea from?

Must have been the 5 minute chat with Ross Lyon or Jimmy Hird's bright idea

Surely the 4 time premiership coach Clarko wouldn't be able to come up with such an idea. He didn't even win coach of the year because he was too busy plotting the deconstruction of the opposing team's game plan on grand final day

Everyone who is a starting 22 player for their club is referred to as a superstar.

The amount of times I've heard, "Adelaide star, David McKay..." or "Melbourne star, Lynden Dunn..."

Surely you aren't suggesting Norf are begging the AFL for a handout? Such a thing is unheard of! :drunk:

Sooo... has JPK getting the captaincy had a discussion or getting its own thread?
I wouldn't have thought he was in the mix but seems the perfect fit to fill the void until Heaney or Parker get the gig.
Congrats to him anyway as a solo captain.

Well he stands up when it counts and the same can't be said of Jack and Hannebery so IMO he was the logical choice.

Which would mean that the "A" would stand for "Always"!

For Robbo? For Robbo I think the "A" probably stands for Absolut.
