Breaking news:

”Collingwood, Eddie McGuire and the football media defend world’s oldest kid, Jordan DeGoey, in a statement reading. “He’s only 26 years old. Barely old enough to go out without adult supervision.”
With the latest coming out on IQ and Ginnivan, that Do Better Report seems to be working a treat. Surely they need to suspend all 3 players for 2 weeks to show they are serious. We you see Eddies comments about De Goey it is hard to work out why the Pies have this sort of problem. He just loves that blokey 90s footy club culture.

Just when you thought you couldn't find any reason to dislike Ginnivan further.

Shocking culture at that club.

Had a look, it's misreporting for outrage.

I'm not into Tiktok, but apparently there's a game you play with someone else, where you ask them questions about what they're into (whether it be boy/girl or otherwise) in order to evaluate what a dealbreaker is.

Would I play this game? Probably, if my partner wanted me to; it's pretty inoffensive. Does it speak to a culture in which people are valued by looks? Sure.

Here is Isaac Quaynor playing said game with his partner:

It really could just be a young people thing I'm too old to get. I'd not do this on camera, and I don't think it's wise that they did it, but that's their choice to make not mine.

In isolation in itself, yes the incident is not that bad (I have no interest in joining TikTok though) but Collingwood FC actually do seem like they want to fix their culture, especially with regards to how their male players treat and view women.

I am glad the club told the lads to take the video down.
They need some real education on responsible social media usage I believe

No surprises here, very insulated society we live in these days..

Awards for everyone

TikTok, seriously. My 14 year old daughter does that shit, and it’s absolutely full of dumb ass shit.

Why would you bother with that crap as an adult?

Anyone seen the movie "10" or "She's out of my league "? Not sure if these movie would still be 'politically correct', but premise of such movies is rating people out of 10.
What's foolish of the Quaynor/Ginnivan vids is having them in a public space given the emotionally charged environment in AFL land... just my opinion...
hear what you are saying but if this sort of "gee us blokes are funny objectifying women cause our culture says part of our masculinity and male bonding is about devaluing and sexualising chicks" then changing such unevolved, crippling behaviour (for men & women) has nothing to do with it being filmed or not

I don't have any daughters (or kids for that matter) but I have known several young girls with bulimia and other unhealthy eating disorders and self-esteem issues because of how they feel the pressure to look good in society/especially for guys/men.
These type of behaviour (which is probably worse now due to social media) by Quaynor and Ginnivan helps feed into those negative and unhealthy thoughts and feelings of girls and women.

It's not good enough to say this type of behaviour is acceptable from pro footballers or any bloke in general, or harms no one.

There is plenty of repercussions and publicly unseen emotional and mental health issues that could arise from this looks value system on Tik Tok or any other sort of opinion that judges a woman on her looks.

Despite being accused of being one, I don't consider myself woke or a 'SJW', as I say I have known and spent a lot of time during the years (especially in my mouth) with lassies who are dealing with some very heavy and troubling health issues (physical and mental) because of how they perceive themselves to look.

It's time many of our blokes actually took a step and try look at how women feel about these value systems and for example being rated a 4 out of 10.

It may seem juvenile and purile nonsense to many blokes, but these sort of things can really cause a great deal of harm.

There are so many more imprtant AFL issues that journos should be focussing on (like why umpires hate Carlton) and instead they are bombarding us with absolute worthless news stories.

Tell you what, if Adelaide lose to Norf this week, a whole West Lakes load of poo poo is going to be thrown at Matty Nicks.

And if Norf get flogged, well its almost going to be Goodnight Vienna Time for David Noble.

Aside from the fact stats have proven that umpires do not hate Carlton (saw a stat last week that we have the 2nd most positive differential in frees F/A this season after the Dogs) , the last couple if weeks cause of the mid season bye has resulted in some dreary games, but this week is going to have some zingers (Brions vs Cheese Platters in Free fall, Cats v Ferals etc)

Let’s just be clear, there are 2 umpires that need to be called out by the media
The rest do a reasonable job with the cards they’re dealt by city hall

The Pies's player incidents is staggering. If it is not okay to have your, sister, mum, aunt, etc, depicted in that manner, it's then never okay, even for a casual observer, to accept that behaviour/acts

Pies (dealing with a Do Better report) and AFL, then take a soft option, suspended fines, education (players and clubs are educated on an on-going basis already), blah, blah

Get real, suspend any player, fine them match payments/fines (whichever is bigger) and while they have been suspended then they can get further education

the perpetually outraged, people cant really be this boring and sensitive in real life can they? surely not...

FRUMPY what part of this post do you find funny?

im presuming you were talking about the quaynor/ginnivan incident - if so, the whole first sentence in relation to this incident is laughable

the fact your sister/mum/aunt have all most likely objectified men/women when hanging out with friends......i dont think anyone can say they havent said 'he/she's alright' or 'he/shes ugly' or 'id **** him/her' - but im sure the high and mighty on here will say they never have.....

it is literally an app on a phone that squillions of men/women would be doing the same thing...but no, they are sportsmen and should be held to account - ****ing spare me.

you whole first sentence is ridiculous

I was talking about both incidents, the De Goey one as well

I think you are making assumptions that "everyone" makes those type of comments, even in a private conversation. As for the app, does that then make it okay to add that sort of content? Really doesn't matter who it is, what position they hold, it's never okay
