Also all women aren't interested in football and may not even follow the news.
Maybe they don't know who he is or his history.
It would be easy to find out.
Didn't mean it was an excuse for him or that he has a right to be playing again. More that hopefully no one would put themselves in that position with him in the first place.

you may not have meant it to come across that way, but this sure sounds like it's leaning towards victim-blaming to me

Doesn't any woman that chooses to be with him from now on have to take some responsibility for their actions too

Speaking as a girl that's completely true. You choose the bed you're gonna lie in - it's always your choice so you need to know all about it.
That probably explains why I'm so picky with boyfriends :)

I hate that false equivalence. As a father of a young girl I can educate her about risk and dangers and how to make good decisions.
That doesn’t mean I would say it’s her fault or that I don’t hold the men who behave badly accountable for their behaviour.
No man should ever assault a woman but a small % do and it’s best to be honest about that. It’s our job to protect them from it when we can and ensure they can protect themselves when we can’t. Part of protecting yourself is avoiding the risky situations where possible and that’s not specific to women. When I travel I always investigate where I am going find the problematic areas and avoid them. That’s just common sense.

A lot of women already do all these things. Because of how real the threat is to them. Despite all reasonable precautions it won’t stop it from happening.

According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 1 in 4 women have experienced abuse of a physical or sexual nature from an intimate partner (either current or past). It’s a serious problem both in this country and worldwide.

I totally agree it is a very serious problem and that was the main thrust of my point. We can’t unfortunately totally eradicate it despite all best efforts, so we must be honest about that and ensure not just a lot of women but all women take all those reasonable precautions. We obviously in parallel need to tackle what’s driving the behaviour and the feeling that it is acceptable in any way shape or form - that’s what is really worrying and not something I would say I am that clear on.

My girlfriend said exactly the same.
Except I imagine she's not as picky as you - she's with me after all

You'd expect 1-2 posters thinking they will win 4-6 but it's quite literally the vast majority. They make North supporters seem reasonable.
Yep. Can't see them winning more than 2.

When was the last time we saw a team finish with a percentage below 50%? GWS in 2012 I reckon. I think they will be worse than that.

Richmond board reckons they'll be getting 4-6 wins next year. Lol.
Had an Eagles supporter tell me yesterday that they thought that 8 wins is not out of the question

I snorted

I never snort

For anyone that likes podcasts as I now do as I started walking to get my strength back post Achilles rupture and with little new content in the off season, I went back through the Dyl & Friends podcast. There are several interesting chats from last few years with Roughy Sicily CJ Will Day I’ve found so far. I listened to a few non hawks by far the most interesting was surprisingly Nathan Buckley on June 12 2023. They hardly talk about footy in 90 minutes he really opened up about himself and was very self reflective and honest and raw. A very engrossing conversation about men’s relationships and general way of navigating life I can’t recommend it more highly.

It doesn't make any sense. They Won 2 games in 2024 and have gutted their list.

I have no idea why they think they'll improve next year.

I love what they've done, it takes a lot of balls to clear out and load up from the draft and they did excellent on the first step which is getting good value for what they traded out, but it remains to be seen if they drafted well, develop well or have a good coach.

We cleared out some older players end of 2022 but that was really only to rejig our midfield. It was a massive success, we started with guys with AFL experience ready to take on more midfield minutes (day, newcombe, nash) And we still went from 8 wins to 7 wins.

Every side will go into games against Richmond as favourites and I think they are as good a chance as we've seen in a long long time to go through a season winless.

Look at the "games of experience" lost table the AFL website has. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1258948/out-with-the-old-how-much-experience-has-your-club-lost They have lost 1000 more games than us.

And while it says we lost 254 games. Almost all of those were Wingard (218, 71 HAW) DGB (28), Phillips (1 )Cooper Stephens (11, 0 HAW) only Philips played a game for Hawthorn in 2024.
