RIGHT?! I was concerned a few weeks ago about this, and nothing has happened since, it's very concerning. Given how out of control the hype is currently, I can't understand how this hasn't been resolved and announced.
I wonder if we will make a big deal about it and announce it on the Eve of the season? I agree this is the first time there has been some real hype around our club in so long and no one has come on board.

I honestly don't think it's a big deal.

Remember we had AHG front and back because there was noone else. From what I understand the renegotiated deal saw AHG putting up the same amount of dosh but just for the front. Means that once we get a back sponsor it's going to be a bonus. Now given that we have burnt and been burnt with a number of recent principle partners (EnergyWatch, Opel, Hankook off the top) it doesn't surprise me that the club is being patient. What's more, they also have the massive iSelect deal for the AFLW. as an extra which no other club has.

So are we going to play round 1 without a back of jumper sponsor? find it hard to believe we are finding it so hard to get a sponsor on board.
I don't think it would be hard to get something.

Jacko is probably holding out for the right partner at the right price. We can afford to be a bit pickier these days.

Its better than taking any deal for the sake of it.

I thought the pink lady match had been dumped but it's alive and will be Round 7 against the hawks. Not sure what the go is with the bulldogs these days

One thing I realised I didn't mention...

PJ said at the season launch that Nev Jetta actively campaigned about wearing the indigenous jumper at the 'G. It's happening against Port Adelaide later in the year, as well as for Indigenous Round.

As long as we don't do the classic FA thing and over pay. The fact we gave Melksham 400k and a 4 year deal still irks me. Guy has a real post bombers Heffernan vibe.

Would be an upgrade on Spencer, anyway. Can he play KPD or KPF these days? He started as a KPD, right?
He did, and I feel he'd be a handy pickup. However, we might have a similar issue to how we used Frost as a relief ruck; i.e. if he's playing KPD we've probably got a specific matchup for him and using him in the ruck would mess with structures too much for it to be overly worthwhile, and I've never noticed Trengove as a forward (at least a useful one anyway).

Agree re Trengove. He'd be handy enough - kind of like a more polished version of Pedersen in that he can play back, forward or ruck to some degree - but I reckon we attack free agency this year to attract a genuine A-grader, if possible. #destinationclub

I, too, like the idea of a fat knife.

Did anyone watch On The Couch the other night? The showed a scene from Fox Footy's Fyfe Doco, where he pretty much gives away that he's not going anywhere. When talking about taking on the captaincy, he says something which amounts to his plans to lead the team for the next 5 or 6 years. Then, after realising what he's just said, he gives a very pained expression, realising that he's just thrown away his bargaining power with Freo.

He'll be out of contract with plenty of suitors so will still have plenty of bargaining power. Can only see him leaving if Freo give him an insulting offer and there's no chance of that happening.

Got a huge man crush on Jetta

Helps that apparently he is one of the nicest people to the girls when he's down at Casey. Legend.
