Solution: not whack people in the back of the head. It was dumb as **** and not a good look
It was, and he's done stupid crap like that far too often. But you know what is a worse look? the fact that him giving Wright a little whack on the back of the head gets the same suspension as lining someone up off the back of the square, absolutely absurd.

Don't know where to post this. I've watched the replay a few times, sometimes pissed and sometimes not. But there is this awesome moment after Weed has kicked a goal, there's the usual celebration and then he gets ready for the next bit of play and I swear he looks panther-like. Sort of like Petracca does sometimes only skinnier. Real arrogant, alert, dangerous prowl. He mightn't be quite there yet, but I reckon if you can prowl like that then your ceiling is super high. He's got something about him. I like the guy. And at least he's on the park, not kicking his goals in the VFL like poor Paddy Mac. I think he will be the goods. Also I sort of cannoned into his dad after the game and we bonded (well I jabbered crap at him and he said thanks) and he shook my hand so I now regard Weedy as a family member almost.

We drafted talented players that we didn't develop properly, but they weren't bad picks. The Saints have drafted talented players who are significantly less talented than the players who went after them

Also luck comes into it.
Petracca and Bray would have been taken by everyone who had those picks, same with Toumpas who everyone rates as a slider.

Oliver is an example of great drafting though because he was a reach

"You'd think you've got something special when the kids got a nice panther prowl about him wouldn't you". Bruce Mac Round 1

Access All Areas on the AFL website just spent their time talking about how bad the saints were. Not one mention of us playing well

As pumped as I was, I reflected on the game with the idea that st kilda were absolutely atrocious after quarter time. We were carving up the midfield but their defence was all over the place. Our general fitness seemed to be through the roof compared to them also. Losing roo would deflate your spirits but man they looked crap.

I also remember saying to myself how screwed bulldogs were when they lost their captain after their old captain walked out and they were stuck with the billionaire in the resis. Long season ahead....

Lost Roo in the last.

I agree though. The Saints stopped running. Bizarre look in Round 1. It was like they came out at half time, looked back at the scoreboard and thought it was all too hard.

Really not liking the "best of goals" video, prefer ALL the goals. Hope they change it back.

I reckon AFL have cut down on how much content you can view for free online. Thankfully we have darthsidusfan

Agree they looked poor and some of that is them dropping off, but I put some of it down to our pressure. Even in the 1st quarter it was good, unfortunately we kept turning it over.

Was Mitch Hannan robbed of the Rising star nomination for this round. Outstanding debut from the 23 year old

I'm unsure if you're trolling, but you have to be no older than 20 at the start of the year for rising star eligibility.

Did you know that if Weller had of kicked those goals they would have won? If they were still 3-4 goals up at half time, we obviously would have been so haunted by the ghosts of past failures that the complete and utter demonlition (that was a typo, but I'm leaving it) of their midfield would never have taken place.
Hahaha yeah they made it fairly clear that sides don't come back from 3-4 goal margins with a half still left to play.

Gawn (Ruck) and Oliver (Interchange) named in AFL.com.au team of the week. I'd have thought Jones can consider himself stiff - in comparison to Beams in particular
Yeah that's poop.
Oliver just sneaking onto the bench interesting also but who cares.

If Richmond beat Collingwood and Brisbane and we beat Carlton and Freo there will be 80k+ on ANZAC day eve
There's another game in there...

Imagine if both teams went in 4-0, you'd be looking at 90k+ given it's a MFC replacement game.

I know, purposefully left them out because I honestly doubt both teams will be 4-0

The game was over when Riewoldt went down.

I agree they played like crap but I think our adjustments and style of play after quarter time pushed them into that position. They didn't know how to respond once we started kicking wide and short and changing our avenues of attack.

Goodwin just completely outcoached Richardson on the day.

They had no answer to Gawn's dominance and their pressure fell away once we got on a roll. Players rolled back rather than to the contest Richo said.

As well as Gawn's dominance they couldn't handle the sustained pressure our midfield put them under either.

Best thing about the game was we took them on at their own game and smashed them.
