Tbh though that statement is about what I expected. We won't really know whether the review bears fruit until next year.
Exactly. People already sooking it up lol.

A few things that are great to see:

Pert gone is the big one. I actually don't mind that he's kept on as a consultant for the Caulfield Home Base project. Shows the club are committed to it and he's been all over it from the start. Would be silly to cut him completely. Smart move. Hopefully he can deliver.

Smith is the other big one. Great get for the club. He obviously turned us down initially, I'm guessing he needed to see some change and we've responded. I expect he'll be president by this time next year. Green IMO has been excellent so far. Exactly what the club needed. He's been upfront and transparent and unlike Roffey, he's been heard.

Chaplin to the forward line is a good idea. He's easily been our best line coach, so give him the weakest area of our team.

"The review also reinforced the importance of our midfield as a critical driver of success". Finally the penny might have dropped. We don't know if Chunk will be any good, but at least they are acknowledging that the midfield needs change.

"The review emphasised the need to refine our method of play" Isn't this exactly what people on here wanted? I don't get the sooking? Of course they aren't going to tell us plebs exactly how they are going to refine it or what exactly will be changed. Surely people aren't that stupid to expect that lol.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with what has been shared. I have no doubt Goodwin has been told behind the scenes that if things don't change for the better then he's gone. They aren't going to say that in the review, but looking at the pointed sections about midfield and also method of play suggests if those things don't change for the better, then he's out the door. He and Richardson 100% on notice. Now can he pull it off? Most are hoping he doesn't, but at least we can see the club seeing the areas we need improving. Midfield, forwardline, and method of play.

I like that Smith has already said he isn’t happy with some of the dealings they have gone on. He might have told Green etc that he will come on as long as certain things happen.
I am of the thinking that smith has a rethink since bGreen has come on for 12 months, to 'clear the air'... before any sSmith presidency.

This way Smithy can take over for a length of time with fresh change and regrowth. It seems clear to me he does not want to be within arms length of the cultural issues... which IMO have devastated our chances in 2022, 2023, 2024...

There goes any sort of chance, at the so-called Dynasty, as our best go grey and creaky.

Already was our 'offensive coordinator' a few years back. Fresh blood etc, haha
I believe Chaplin is thought of highly around AFL circles, and is just about our most senior assistant coach.
So his moving to forwards makes sense to me, as Jones and Randall take over the midfield... and then Bassett gets to know the ropes within, from our established Defence.

So hopefully we will start to become more attacking off our own halfback-line. Instead of Levers fantastic & brilliant
slow-motion plays, deep along the boundary line.

I'm yawning already at the thought of Lever again directing traffic from our D50.

Jesus Christ what an absolutely pointless dribble of a statement.

Lots of "the review confirmed our strengths" going on in there.
To me it smacks of decisions "that were not made", in our recent past, since the 2021 Premiership... and of course those ones that were made... the decisions to bring in NQR's to our list, against the thoughts of our on-field leaders.

This is what i see as the catalyst to our unrest, this back half of this season. Bringing it all to a head.

Thanks Tracca... for standing up and singing and dancing for change.

Lets hope next year we wake up, and all will be :-

Perty, happy and sad: he helped take us to the promised land , but has pies connections and has overseen our move away from Gosch's. Which I think hands over Gosch's to the eddy Pies. lets just give the Pies all of Melbourne town.

Good get. I have a hunch Perty and Roffey were too busy behind the scenes, in all areas they shouldn't have been. List changes.

Yeah and Goody did a half arsed job of it then reverted to norm. And most of this board want him gone because he refuses to make meaningful changes and continues to select his favourites.
All Eyes on him now. CEO gone, president gone, best player wanting out. He didn't have this pressure last couple of off seasons. Yes, there should have been as us supporters could see the issues, but the media, the general public and the board are now watching very closely. There's a difference between this offseason and the last couple. Whether he can adapt and change for the better we're about to find out. Most of us clearly don't think he can but at least there's genuine heat now.

Agree on this. We’ve seen some big changes. Can’t imagine Goody and Richo surviving another poor season. It’s a big year coming up.

Media in general is slow on the uptake with pressure on coaches I find, unless they're at a genuinely big club.

El Presidente email on the outcome of the football department review
Already lost me in the opening line saying the purpose of the review was "returning to finals in 2025" .. then went on to brag about being straight set'd two years running..... they dont get it.

The gamestyle bit sounds exactly like last year, head still firmly up their ass thinking we are onto a winner with this shit.
