I'd be worried.... but is a trade worth one week of a zero?

My Mumford problem
Sorry for making a new thread, but this is a pretty predicament.
I'm one of the last few that have actually kepts Mumford this long, and I just can't seem to wait anymore, so I need your advice.
Do I...
a.) Keep hold of him and the great POD he will obviously be (given he returns to form once he comes back, whenever that is)
or
b.) Trade him out, free up some cash and upgrade my cows..
What would you do? I currently have $600, so obviously trading him out for someone like Stephenson would give me a fair bit of cash to upgrade with.

Need a fuller picture of your team - no. of trades left, whether you are in for overall or leagues, your league position, whether you'll win a couple of games in the byes etc etc.
List your team and give us all that other stuff and you'll get a proper answer or 4.

It's pretty good actually - the only serious flaw you have is that you have a lot of upgrades to do and not many trades.
I agree you'll have to get rid of one of your rucks - however if you get rid of Mumford now you'll eat a donut in the byes. Guess you might anyway depending on whether he's back by rd 11.
In rd 11 you'll eat at least one donut (in the forwards) - assume you are not in for overall - if I were you I would check your rd 11 opponent's team right now. The opponent I have has to make 8 changes at least to avoid donuts by rd 11, which makes my 3 potential donuts a relative non-issue. If you need the win and your opponent roughly has the same no. of potential-donuts you might want to leave Mumford in (this assumes of course that he's playing).
If you don't want to do that maybe you could get rid of Mumford right now - that means you are locked in with Giles and Kruz for the rest of the season given the number of trades you have left. Alternately you don't really lose that much by waiting until after rd 13 to downgrade him then (you'll need him for cover for Kruz and Redden). On balance that's probably the tack I would take - reason being 4 rounds is a long time in football and either Giles/Kruz could get injured and Mummy gives you cover for the other two (given Redden hasn't been playing).
If I were you one trade I would make is to bring in Darley (assuming he plays this week) - you do need to raise $ - probably for Morris so that will remove one of your 4 backline donuts for rd 13. You are razor thin on trades - if it were me I'd lock in that one trade this week then wait until rd 14 to decide what to do with Mumford - hopefully Mummy plays rd 11 for you to cover Giles (either that or Redden). Only knock on this is that Mummy's BE is pretty high, and if he plays he will lose some value - but as I said on balance I'd be holding him and hoping he gives you cover in rd 11 - you may even decide to get rid of Kruz or Giles (Kruz has the rd 13 bye). Then you can decide what to do with him rd 14.
If it were me I'd be conserving my trades - just the one this week to raise cash (if Darley plays - if not, hold fire). You don't have a bad team and need to wait until further downgrade targets present themselves - which they will.

Oh yeah, in future SC season you might like to upgrade your forwards first - this season there are 10 players in the forwards with averages of at or upwards of 100, whereas in the backs only 5 players are at or over 100; 16 players in the backs average around or over 90. In the forwards that number is 24.
The lesson being that generally forwards are more expensive to upgrade to, and score better than, backs - so if you have a choice between a forward or back upgrade in future seasons you probably should go the forward - especially early in the season as those extra points they score count and if you don't get them early they can get expensive (ie Danger, Sidey etc). Note that most of these forwards are not key forwards but midfielders posing as forwards. There has been a steady average decline in the SC output of key forwards since SC started.
So yeah, in future upgrade your forwards over your backs first if you can.

I would keep him now, you have held him this long why not wait only one more week?
Id hold (he fits in well with bye structure of Giles and Kruezer and you have missed the boat on Stephenson) and then look at trading Giles out after byes or whenever Brogan returns for a rookie and upgrade other places then.

It was broke, it was very very broke.
95% of the complaints have been appearance/layout issues, all of which will be fixed as has been repeatedly stated around the site. The administrators wanted to get the site back up and running ASAP. Would you have preferred a few more days down just so it came back looking a bit better on first look?

Reading between the lines, News Limited started threatening legal action and monty rolled over. Completely can't blame him for it, as I was curious as to how long it was going to last given the source stats are behind a paywall.
Figured that would be the case. That really does suck. Love relying on iPhone + FF while out and about, dammit!

Ah that's bullshit (not what you are saying but News Limited), you can't copyright facts. Which is what supercoach point scores are. We don't have database protection laws either. It's a shame cause it would be a hard case for News Limited to win. But I guess that's just the rub of the little guy v big guy.
