Dericks. Or maybe Derick.....ex.
Nice write up. To be honest though, I'd be disappointed if we picked up Lobb or Gardiner with 15. I'm also not totally sold on Lewis Taylor either. If I was in Beatson's position, I'd jump on Acres if he was available.http://sydneyswansoffseason.blogspot.com.au/ just my thoughts on the off-season and the upcoming draft guys.

With pick 15, we definitely need to go best available. Gardiner is rated higher than he should be because of the lack of key position players in the draft. I'd have him in the 25-30 bracket in terms of draft power rankings but I'd say he'll go to the Saints at pick 18/19 or early 20s.Why would you be disappointed in Gardiner?
Acres and Taylor then? I agree with what you are saying re Gardiner, next year is meant to be KPP heaven so we might as well cash in then, its not like Gardiner would be ready to take on CHB or FB within 2 years of being on the list so might as well wait till next year. With pick 15, we definitely need to go best available. People on this forum have made it pretty clear that we need a key backman who can match up on big power forwards. Gardiner doesn't provide that unfortunately as he hasn't got the height (192-194cm). Don't get me wrong, Gardiner's a great competitor and I think he will develop into a reasonably solid back but I feel like the Swans would benefit in investing in one of the flashier, outside or stronger bodied, inside midfielders that should be available at 15.
I'm a big, big fan of Acres - but that more says a lot about the type of midfielders I enjoy watching. I like the 185-190cm athletic wingman/flankers who also can play an outside midfield role. Not in regard to potential but rather mould, Acres is more like a Pendlebury or Fyfe.Acres and Taylor then? TBH I actually can see us trading for an established backman next year rather than develop out own.
If we are still in for a ruckman in one of our later picks I think Ben Brown from Werribee could be a good option. 199cm kicked a fair few goals including a bag of 5 and bags of 3 on multiple occasions. He is only 20 so plenty of upside. Very quick for a big man as well and tested really well at the combine. Could get him at 53.
Agree Nankervis is our man it just seems like he's the sort of guy that will do anything to get draftedBen brown? Really? He has such a bad haircut or just bad hair. He looks like he has perennially got his finger in the electric socket.
Yeah terrible hair, yes more a forward but I think he could develop into a ruckman.Ben brown? Really? He has such a bad haircut or just bad hair. He looks like he has perennially got his finger in the electric socket. Other than that he is seen more as a key forward.
''Talking to some of the recruiters, they've asked how I'd handle moving away from home, and that's no problem. It wouldn't worry me as much as some other kids, and I reckon I'm ready for it.''

At least if we draft him we won't have to worry about him going home. Great article though.[/quo
Sounds like a nice kid
A fair few phantom drafts from reputable posters have us taking BlAcres at 15, which is a very good sign. Will be interesting to see what Twomey comes up with tonight and Quayle tomorrow.
