Kids are full of entitlement these days. They're not willing to wait around that long.

Isn't that apparently the reason why Clark, Narkle & Constable etc want out?

Looking at the first two:

- Clark has played 21 AFL games, had 1 VFL game last year and for a variety of reasons was limited to 3 senior games and a number of scratch matches this year
- Narkle has played 23 VFL games, 17 AFL games and a number of scratch matches this year after recovering from another hamstring injury

Both of those guys have generally been given a fair crack at senior level when they've been available for selection - it's not like they've been left in the VFL for 3 or 4 years. So if they currently aren't in the selection frame then maybe it's a good indication they have things to work on, rather than just being overlooked.

Constable probably has a better case in terms of the argument that he needs a new club to gain more opportunity, as he's one who hasn't had the same run of senior games - but considering our willingness to play the developing, younger guys, maybe it's as simple as Constable hasn't done enough to hold a spot in the senior side ahead of others

Best case scenario for us is keeping our 3 picks, signing Cameron, Crouch (no trade) and gaining Higgins for Constable. I personally don’t think we need Higgins and would prefer to play a young player but it looks like it’s happening.

Best 22 2021:

Fb. Bews. Blicavs. Stewart
Hb. O’Connor. Henderson. Henry
C. Menegola. Selwood. Duncan
Hf. Higgins. Cameron. Miers
Ff. Rohan. Hawkins. Danger
Foll. Stanley. Guthrie. Crouch
Int. Parfitt. Clark. Kolo. Dahlhaus

Emg. Esava. Simpson. Touhy

Higgins coming in stifles Simpson, fog, and other young players. Which I’m against. Clark is a lock. Esava may need to wait until a key forward or Stanley goes down.

Daresay Crouch won't be coming, given all the noise around him wanting to really stay. He only comes if we don't get Cameron - which seems to be 'Plan B.' Means Simpson plays, Rohan, Kolo, Hendo, Henry and Dahl are definitely not guaranteed, and there's still room for youngsters to make their mark. If they're good enough, they'll play. Simpson looks to get better every single game - and he's able to play multiple positions

If we win the flag and recruit Cameron I’ll be having a very good summer. Hopefully I can leave my suburb by then. Otherwise I can rotate highlights of Cameron and watching the GF.

Oh boy, imagine the cries from oppo fans if we win the flag, THEN Cameron is all over the paper in the blue and white hoops!!!!

One can dream, but this dream can become a reality, let’s do it.

Higgins is as close to a 'lock' as you can get, and it will be on two years - Mitch (Cleary) has said as much, and he's very very confident on that one.

I feel Crouch want to stay..
Or possibly could end a cat .
He seems to like the s smaller cities .

But money talks and bull shite walks.

I think GWS and us are offering 750k a year.
Jezza seems happy up there I thought he might stay.

We're offering more. 750-850 from reports, which means we're using our TK money and likely Ablett/Taylor retirement money in part

Nah he's said he wants to stay, in an interview just yesterday. We've made no noise about him, and reports are we've really lowballed him because he's not our first priority. That could change, but, I don't see us chasing that hard, meaning he probably stays or goes somewhere else

I feel both Crouches could be better players away from each other.
Just a gut Feel.

Mrs rocker work mate son is Higgins best mate.
In the past Higgins said he hates Geelong ...I wonder what the gossip is tomorrow.

Maybe he just hates the town, doubt he hates the club. Was seen down in Pakington St recently having lunch, and has said himself that he's likely to be coming here, so there's no real mystery around this one IMO. Probably just likes living in Melbourne better

Wonder if things have changed since his sister has been playing for our AFLW & VFLW teams?

Tim Kelly and Cockatoo leaving probably has an impact on Narkle looking to get to Melbourne to be closer to mates. I read somewhere last year that those 3 were pretty tight.

Not sure if he still does but Narkle, Sav and Parfitt all lived together.
You can’t really be much closer to your mates than that

Re Carlton pick trade.

if they agree to p7 in a trade (whatever it’ll be),why not go to Essendon & day Carlton have agreed to x trade in principle - why not trade us your pick & you can still get p7 for Saad

I agree with that - and im a Sav fan

Best example was that nightmare Rich game in the 3rd qtr - he got the ball about 65 metres from Geel goal - on the flank - there were 2 Geel players in the goal square unopposed - kick it to them - then certain Geel goal

However instead he kicked this loopy skyscraping thing - and the only thing which bailed out the kick - was Jarvis took a terrific one handed mark ( but missed the goal )

Sav had no awareness in that situation - and he had all the time in the world - there were spare unopposed Geel jumpers in front of him - but he didnt see them somehow

Have a look at a recent scratch match video ..Sav leans back and almost pivots around his grounded foot depending on the ball drop..so its a kick around the body ... He doesn't get thru it, doesn't stay over it. Compare his action to Simpson.

Simpson is far closer to ideal repeatable action.

In the old days you had to learn to stay over it learning how to stab pass or drop kick.... I'd rather he come back from preseason fat and unfit but had remodelled his kicking ....yet another example last two weeks of straight kicking ie conversion ..means winning or losing.
