Think Port are gonna have to get that ruling for the Future 2nd, as that's the only way we acquiesce to trading him, IMO - as Pick 30-35 this year is useless to us

I agree..hopefully the afl give that approval and we flip sav and 38/48 for ports future 2nd then that means bowes and bruhn can get done.
If the afl wont tick it off hopefully we can get a 3rd club involved to generate that future 2nd. My worry is that the jhf deal holds it up.

Not really useless (Ports #33 that is)... It can be ontraded or packaged up with our #38 to help us move up this year or to get a 2nd rounder next year.

Even Sav + 48 for Ports 33 would be ok in a way that it could help us unlock some moves.

As per usual... Time will tell.

Have PA got that to give?

They have 33 and 43 but neither is good to us as we have too many picks and no list spots. We need to turn that pick into a future 2nd so we can then send our future 2nd out for bowes and 7 and do bruhn.

Yeah but remember if gws want a fr1 for bruhn and gc fr2 for bowes we have to get a future 2nd in the door or get afl approval to bend the rules.
So 33 isnt really useful to us a future 2nd is.

Would love for the club to get ahead of the game and move out Stephens before his value completely evaporates.

Just don't think he has the tricks to make it.

If there is value to be had by trading him... I'd be down.

Hes contracted so like sav its his call but both are down the best 22 pecking order.

Funny how people having a crack at Mackie, conveniently overlook that Stephen Wells is still pulling major strings and an integral part of the process.

Mackie is list manager
Wells is recruiting manager

And no decisions are made solely by those guys. It’s broader than that with coach, CEO and others involved. Mackie just playing the role of front man and delivering what we’re offering or asking for.

So a couple of deals we’re butting heads with other clubs on and it’s Mackie who’s the problem according to Rendell.

Someone grab the microphone off Matt. He’s not well.

By all reports Mackie lowballing all deals… reported he has offered pick 38 for Henry, and a future first and future second coming back for Bruhn, turn it up. Not sure on the Bowes deal but bulking on a second going back. Sounds too greedy, but hopefully just posturing. Lets get these deals done! Surely if we get all three and go to the draft with pick 7 and a spec pick its a great outcome….

The Collingwood board told me to piss off, after I said Pick 18 is most likely to be used for O Henry...

Just told them Bobby Hill contract offer is more than O Henry offer, and that Pick 18 is a pretty decent deal, considering he's OOC and wanting out, and also not Best 22.

Then they started ranting about splitting Pick 7 and taking SDK... Lol

Now I get it... How feral opposition boards can become. I haven't done that in a while, but oh well, it was amusing.

Negotiating. They will try aim for middle ground.

33 + 38 is more points than Brisbane's 25 + 56.

So hypothetically could get that 25 (still might need some steak knives though) and use it for Henry and keep our first this year.

There are just so many ways it can all pan out... I won't be surprised if a "non obvious" way get's it done.

Will be spewing if we give our F1 for Bruhn without at least something half decent coming back... But GWS are hard asses.

Lots of water to go under the bridge.

In the end... if the players we get turn out to be very good, that's all we can really hope for.

Andrew Mackie was a legendary sledger and troll. Did anyone think he wouldn't have a laugh while going about things?
Look he is a bit of a smart aarse - but was that sledge against Nth Melb - Geel were a mile in front and they kicked another goal - andMackie said look its only Nth Melb - but it was alot better and cleverer than that - thats why im asking

Ha, We would want 5 1st rounders for SDK!! Absolute jet, best young Backman in the league by a country mile!!

Btw guys, Matt Rendell basically confirmed on the call with me that he was full of it, that I was 'taking him too seriously and he was just being facetious' and that me saying it was just an opening gambit and referencing the Pick 8/Pick 30+ Clark opening trade negotiations last year, made a lot of sense.

Completely backtracked when called out lol, which suggests, as we all knew, that he's completely full of it

shame you dont have a podcast

Can understand Port being hopefully "pretty keen" on Sav.

They've had the likes of Trent McKenzie playing extremely undersized on Hawkins and other key forwards.

They have one big unit (Alir Alir) in defense, but they like to free him up to intercept.

I imagine they'd be keen on getting someone in that has the size to play on the big boy forwards... It's an obvious weakness of theirs.
