Thank God for Jack viney he can play football because he can't orate.
I saw something where Jack Viney caught the train and did an internship at KPMG. Really tried to be the every man. One of the most awkward things I’ve seen.

Sad thing is, when he finishes football, he will be parachuted into a managerial position to try and win business by being a ‘Leadership and Culture’ specialist. Which in itself is a pretty funny thing when we talk about MFC.

The whole Dees key forward thing is overstated.

They have a ton of them, they just don't have any game changers. Van Rooyen might be one day.

Unless they're bringing in a Curnow, Cameron, Hogan, or even Larkey type, they're better off changing their gameplan.

Even most of those names wouldn't be utilised like they have been within that system.

More spud level key forwards won't help them. What will help is playing a faster transition game that leaves the F-50 open for players to lower their eyes and hit targets.

Just having a key forward for the sake of it and bombing it on their heads 50 times a game after a slow buildup - that allows the opposition to flood back - won't work.

That would only change with an elite contested marking gun like Hogan, and that's way easier said than done.
Kreuger is 196cm tall.
Melbournes other key forwards are Ben Brown, who is cooked (6 games last season), Fritsch who plays tall but is only 188cm, Van Rooyen who is 193cm, Dan Turner who is 194cm and kicked 17 goals from 15 games, Harrison Petty who is 197cm tall and kicked 9 goals because he was forward but up the field a lot.
They also have Schache who is tall, but got one game and is usually in defense.

Demons have no decent tall forwards who can make a contest.
Its not that the Dees don't have any game changers. They don't have any forwards over 195cm who are even "average".

Kreuger is not the answer and I am not saying that, I am saying IF I was Kreuger I would be hitting up the Dees or Bombers because if you are fit and tall and can find a goal they will feed you games.

Melbournes forwardline is dire.
Brad Green made a comment where he says he can't wait til Rd 1 next year for Gawn, Oliver, Petracca and Viney to win that first clearance for the season. As funny as that is with the current Trac/Oliver issues, who exactly is going to be on the end of that clearance?

Demons really should be making a play for Wright from the Bombers.

Just checked Twitter for the Bluey awards, it’s a total w***fest of Melbourne values 🤮

Anyhoo, Oliver is amongst the votes

Petracca didn’t attend. If he loses, will he blame Oliver? Cause you know, he lost the Brownlow due to Oliver 🙄

The ball is in Clayton's court. If he wants out, then all of this from Melbourne is a vain attempt to save face.

We now wait and see.
The issue I see with this course is it will increase the cost.

Despite their comically bad handling of this situation, if Clayton comes out and says trade me to Geelong, Melbourne will just dig in and hold him to the contract if we don't cough up.

Why isn't Trac there?

Petracca will skip Melbourne's best-and-fairest night on October 4 so he can attend a Red Bull training camp in Austria, and he has declared he will be ready to go for day one of pre-season.

Today’s Oliver love fest could well be their tactic.

Call their bluff, Melbourne created the fiasco, now they want to play games? As a poster said in this thread, Mackie thrives on this kind of game.

It they really want him gone they have to accept a lower offer.

Or we walk away.

One of the few times I would agree with Sam.
Heads need to roll at Melbourne or the afl should probably step in and force off field change there. Toxic.
Yep AFL may need to step in..again..and hold their hands again

Can’t stand on their own despite winning a flag

Mackie has Melbs over a barrel.
We're not turnips, we're only going so far on a player who carries quite a risk.
Not enough $$$$ for Melbs, so suddenly a shopped player is required. Pretty disgraceful treatment of the man. Blood on their hands, considering the mental health issues Clarry has endured, and that no other party is interested.

To go through the meet and greet at Geelong would be pretty anxiety inducing, now embarrassing, can't see it as a scam.

That won't work as Geelong won't budge. So they will end up having to keep a player on a big wage who doesn't want to be there and might decline. Or trade him at a loss to clear the contract. Those are the only two options they don't have a third option.

If rumours are correct Geelong want to pay 60% of his contract only.
If I'm him. I'm not burning people at the B&F.

I might not be happy playing next year. But I am going to suck it up rather than hand back $300k per year.
And although I'd expect the environment to be destabilised, I'm not going to be the one burning it to the ground.
He’s handing back literally nothing if he stays… the only downside is people don’t like him…. Easy to deal with for 1.3m
