GFC Supporter Groups

I go to social functions for supporter groups of both clubs, and Collingwoods are far far worse.
Thank God my boyfriend isn't a stereotypical Geelong supporter then... I'm trying to talk him into buying a Geelong membership next year so he can go to games with me. He has never been a Collingwood member either, haha.

DRAFT IDEAS FOR GFC SUPPORTER GROUP
Need a President, Secretary, Treasurer.
President is direct contact with GFC; manages overall running of group
Secretary is to take minutes of each meeting and provide copies to GFC admin and each committee member
Treasurer is to look after Group funds (profits/ expenses) and report to GFC with finance reports
Positions to be up for election each 12 months.
All committee members are to be members of the GFC.
Hold AGM at end of season, October/November.
GROUP SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST 15 MEMBERS.
At each monthly meeting, at least half attending should be GFC members.
Membership of group open to all BF members/ GFC members and family (who are Geelong supporters/members)
Have sponsors for monthly meetings, websites, etc. eg. PREMIUM SPONSOR, STANDARD SPONSOR, etc.
WEBSITE: Have GFC supporter group website, with such things as match reports from group members, blogs, chat forum, etc.
Similar to BF, have a club player of the year award, where a group will vote each week. Player who wins will be presented with a plaque/ trophy for example.
Hold raffles, fundraising/sportsman nights; other supporter groups have had footy clinics, family days, etc.
Eg. Season Launch for group, we can request a player appearance. We must notify club 3 months in advance.
One of the goals for the GFC is for each supporter group to try and recruit new members to the club. One possibility is to set up stalls on game days.
Annual membership fee for members of the group. Eg. $15 for current GFC members, $25 for non GFC members.
Hold mid season functions in conjunction with other supporter groups (METROCATS, PERTHCATS, etc.)

Well Geelong 2k9 I am currently a member of the cheer squad, also help out metro cats and have a lot of contact with interstate groups and I can tell you everything you propose is already happening at all those groups. Reading your words I felt like I was reading what the cheer squad do. Also not sure if you guys are aware the squad donate money to the club every year this year I think it was round the 25,000 dollar mark so they do a lot for the club.
So not sure if what you have in mind would be accepted seeing the metro cats also do a lot of fund raising as well but I think the more supporters the better so good on you for trying.

Thats fine, and I support what you do, no questions asked. I am aware of what the other groups do, but the premise of the idea is for all of the BF'ers to actually get together, formalise a group and help out the GFC at the same time.
Difference between us and the cheer squad though is we sink a lot more piss, don't have banners, don't have crap chants (eg oi oi oi) and are all the more rowdy.
