This is the sort of luxury you can afford once you have cleared almost all debt. What a great position we are now in. David Koch is a financial wizard

Make your community proudery for longery with (potentially free) advertisingerly for mining company with the worst reputation
Wasn’t at the time and if all comes good for GFG within Australian operations, it will not be Whyalla, we get more from them for our good graces.

We don’t need to play politics.

GFG is a dumpster fire. I work in the maintenance & service industry that services Liberty Primary Steel. Currently a lot of suppliers that feed LPS have placed stop credit on supply and services to them. Not sure how they are coping if they can get anything to maintain and operate their plant?

Correct. We can't get insurance on them now and won't trade.

Infrabuild (Port Adelaide) are even Prepaid with us too now.

So many businesses aren't getting paid and are well over 120 days.

"We exist to ... and make our community proud". Except for when it comes to sponsorships. Then its fast food, a Chinese Car Company and a billionaire that stiffs his workers...

Sydney with Qatar Airlines and being all up and about promoting a "Pride Match" is the best.
We all know "making our community proud" is only there to lower expectations and dilute the message about winning premierships now that we see that as an impossible dream.

Still not as embarrassing as signing AusGold as a partner. Remember that?
Never comment on something you know absolutely nothing about.

PAFC made a lot of money out of AusGold. A helluva lot.

GfG in the news again this arvo. Caught the arse end of it, but can’t be good whatever it is.

There are 2 main types of iron ore you can mine, magnetite and hematite. The Middleback Ranges mines that GFG own, contain both types of iron ore.

The hematite ore body up there has come to the end of its useful life.

WA / The Pilbara is overwhelmingly hematite iron ore bodies. Supposedly there is a shit load of magnetite left in the Middleback Ranges and is what the Whyalla Steelworks has mainly used over its lifetime and why they have exported the hematite.

They both have their pros and cons, magnetite has about 70-72% iron by weight and therefore less impurities than hematite, which is 60-68% iron by weight and magnetite also has magnetic properties, which is more useful for some end products after processing. But there are different grades of both types of iron ore.

Others on here who work in mining will be more specific about the differences and pros and cons of each iron ore type.

This has nothing to do with Gupta's finances - just the normal end of ore body/mine life of a non-renewable mineral. Well ok he has brought forward the end of the mining of hematite by a few months, which is driven by finance, but the same story would have been reported in a few months time if they didn't pull the pin early.

Unlike the Norwegians, who put an extra royalty on their oil and gas non-renewable resources, and bank theses proceeds into a sovereign wealth fund for all citizens future pensions, not just public servants, Australian/state governments don't do anything like this.
