I wish Graham Cornes did that forward thinking..

Graeme actually did try to be forward thinking. After the Crows sacked him, he offered to take a role with the club that would have resulted in him meeting the F/S requirements for a coach at that time. That would have meant that Chad and Kane would have been Crows F/S selections.

Unfortunately the Crows knocked back his offer.

I Honestly don't want it now. not for our first this year and next and then a swap of second round. That's being COMPLETELY reamed and I'd be sacking reid.
Their 2nd rounder shouldn't be too far from our first.

Sacking a bloke who just a week ago got 2 first rounders after everyone thought we were mad, plus pick 39 for a guy who hasn't played a game
....... glad you're not in charge

The Herald Sun understands that Carlton was set to send its superstar midfielder as well as its 2018 second-round selection to the Crows.

In return the Blues would net pick No.10 and Adelaide’s 2018 first-round selection.

The Blues also believed Adelaide’s 2018 second-round selection would be sent back. Adelaide did not believe that formed part of the deal.

For those that can't get past the Herald Sun pay wall.
Lol so, 10, our 2018 1st and 2nd, for Gibbs and your 2018 2nd? Not sure we’d go close to that.

Really hope we're not mortgaging the future like that.

Was just sharing the info, no comment on the trade itself. If that's the case and it's a genuine misunderstanding you'd think crows 3rd round pick would get it done tomorrow.

Rucci

Last week: "Crows have to get Gibbs."
Crows get Gibbs: "Crows blinked."

Last week: "Crows need to be strong on Cameron".
Crows push to keep Cameron: "I can't believe they aren't folding and letting him go"
I heard that driving home. I actually yelled at the top of my voice at the radio. "shut the **** up Rucci you ****ing stupid campaigner".

I had a quick look around to see who I'd offended, and saw another guy yelling at his radio - truth! I'm hoping he was yelling at Rucci also, but I'm mainly hoping that anyone who heard me yell might think it was actually the guy in the other car. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Seriously, the controlled rage in Rucci's voice because the Crows were having any kind of win was delicious.

That makes no sense. That deal would see us give up 2 firsts and a second round pick for 29yo Gibbs and something like pick 20 in 2018. In what world is that going to happen?

Having Chad and Kane could have been a blessing and a curse. With their talent and work ethic, we could well have won another flag. But who knows what the long term ramifications of having their toxic personalities around the club would have been.
