It not pointless getting him but if we don't it not the end of the world as some believe it would be.
So I look at Gibbs and any good ins as a bonus.

Don't see any Carlton posters asking for pick 10 and 2018 1st...maybe one whacko but that is not the consensus.
Most are pushing for something like pick 16 and 19 though...maybe we can give a third back along with Gibbs.
So many 'whispers' and rumours that trade will get done or that it's being discussed so i think it's still on. Reid's comments on Trade Radio would suggest it's being discussed in the background.

I could live with it. You wouldn't do it every year but Gibbs ain't getting younger and that cups not getting closer.
Something would have to come back. Their 2 or 3 next year or something.

Even if pick 19 is a dud in the long run, its the principal of being bent over unfairly.
A 29yr old Gibbs in R1 2018 is worth at best a 1st.

16 and 19 won't happen. 16 would be best blues can hope for and that would be overs for a player that maybe has 3 years left. Feel the trade will involve player or players from the crows though.

No, Pick 39 in this particular draft is getting into the speculative player area, i.e. players that have talent but have aspects of their game that need work to measureup at AFL level, hit and miss. Maybe Carlton's 2018 2nd coming back might be considered

No not yet, Reid just working on amassing more first round picks to give to Carlton. Hopefully we'll have 4 or 5 to offer Carlton for Gibbs by Thursday......not sure that'll be enough though.
