the Ultimate Warrior
Senior List
Sale City have a good junior structure, in fact they may have the best numbers amongst all clubs(I don't know the ins and outs of SMCA juniors) yet, they are not represented in the 1sts and have lost numerous players to factors out of their control. Unfortunately, you can't always control every factor of a person's life.
Sale City juniors are now very strong and well ran. This has only happened over the past couple of seasons and this is the reason why there are not many good 25-30yo old cricketers at the club but may have(?) one of the strongest batch of 17-20y in the whole comp. They made some tough decsions a few years ago for that they hope will have long term results rather than short term results.
1 - change of name and colors to match the footy sides.
2- playing and sticking with the young players before high price recuits, like in the past.
3- having one of the strongest social clubs in the league that accomidates players and girls.
4- Strong links between juniors and seniors.
5 - having there club associated with other cricket programs, all access, milo and womens cricket.
6- having a young commitee that have a hands on approach.
Sure they still have alot of work to do but there is no doubt they are trying to get things right.
