If Ellis isn’t going to be around for a while with that calf, I wouldn’t mind trying Farrar further up the ground on the wing. Any brain fade won’t be as costly, and we need players who can make things happen the way he can. Gives a taller bailout option out of defence as well and he can blanket the other teams skilled runners.

Weller, Powell, Farrar rotating through half-back/wing will keep the opposition on their toes.

Yeah, I like that. We need some speed on the wings one way or another. I’m a big fan of wingers that actually have the attributes of a winger. Very underrated for a team, but we don’t seem to rate it at all.

Graham still punching the ball whilst in complete open space for an easy mark. No wonder even Dew has lost his patience. Brock going to to past him.
Geez, again, Graham can have as many “one-percenters” as he wants, but him punching the ball nowhere for the opposition to pick it up, or punching it when all alone, doesn’t make it a positive stat.
The problem is we've rewarded his performances like this in the past because we had no other option when Ballard or Collins got hurt. So Graham knows as long as he stays healthy, there's a good chance he gets in the team eventually. No incentive to improve. He's played 37 senior games for us and only earned maybe a handful of them.

Let's hope Brock and Andrew kick on and force Graham to learn because that's not even QAFL standard footy.

If Sandy Brock can get stronger and figure out how to defend 1v1 correctly, he will be an AFL player. Skills and athleticism are awesome for a big guy.

He looks a player. Think we should keep our powder dry on luring a gun KPD til we see how the season plays out with Andrew and Brock.

Did Jed Anderson play midfield? Kind of hoping he will add some mongrel to our senior midfield when match fit…

So not the Year of the Crab then?
Only 3 more chances!

My takeaway from the game
  • Farrah was easily above the rest, shouldn’t have been dropped.
  • Sandy Brock was really good taking a lot of marks reading the play well.
  • I was impressed with McLaughlin, looks like a natural footballer. He’s almost what we want Lukosius to be in the fwd line.
  • Sam day led well, wouldn’t mind seeing him as a backman
  • Jed Anderson worked into the game well. Plenty of tackles.
  • Humphrey will be a player, just needs to work into the game a bit more if he wants senior opportunities.

against a young Geelong side. (I don't expect Stanley and Rohan to actually play)

Doesn’t bode well for Faulkhead if he is the emergency for the VFL team…

But the rest of the team is looking very good. Plenty of actual AFL depth floating around there.

Two AFL players will come out of the listed side and Faulkhead and McLaughlin will be ins. They just have to name the AFL emergencies

Mac is back. Let's hope he is determined to make up for his indiscretions!

Rivals some of our teams we put on the field in 2018.

The camera work is making the game unwatchable. Zoomed right in following the ball. Constable lining up for goal and after he kicks it the camera stays on him, had to rely on the commentator to find out he missed. I was really looking forward to watching the likes of Chol, Davies, Andrew and Humphrey.
