This is from last year when there was drama about Setterfield playing VFL finals. It has some of the rules (if still relevant?)
Yeah, but I've heard that it's down to 3 for 2023 but I can't find that knowledge publicly, so can't specifically source that information, but a Gold Coast injury update states that Joel Jeffrey is available for the qualifying final but he only played five VFL matches

Touk and Collins at VFL training today. Maybe more but that’s all I could see in the insta video.

The year of the Crab is almost upon us!
More marks and intercepts than spoils is definitely a positive.

Pretty sure we are moving from Year of the Fat Sleepy Wombat to Year of the Coconut Crab.

Note:
According to Google, Coconut crabs are also known as Robber crabs. They can climb trees, are known to attack birds and have the most powerful claws on the planet. They crack open and eat coconuts.

This sounds right.

Bloody hell, where is our line-up for tomorrow's game? I would love to know who is eligible. A couple more hours to wait, I guess.

Lions already announced theirs. It's a pretty strong line-up with 16 AFL listed players plus mature players like Buzza and Dunkley.

It up on the afl site and it's looking pretty stacked. 21 afl listed players I believe, after a quick look the only players I think could be in there but aren't are fiorini and Budarick but not sure if they qualify.

Budarick should be able to play, but maybe they are icing him.

Fiorini has played a lot. Same with Flanders. Probably don’t qualify, or they’d be there surely.

Apart from Brock and McLaughlin, then Eckersley and Lake, it’s all AFL experienced players in some way. Just hope the synergy is good enough to dominate. A win would be huge. VFL have a great record at the Bank this season too.

Midfield our weakest link I reckon. If Lyons and Mathieson have big ones, could be the difference.
Yeah, and Moyle v Fort isn’t easy for Moyle.

Blakely, Davies, Constable, Tsitas and Hollands isn’t too bad to rotate midfield minutes.

And if the mids give enough supply, our forwards should get to work. Hopefully we stay switched on all game.

Huge choke if we don't win the flag
We should definitely make the GF but potentially having to travel to Melbourne to face a Melbourne-based team in the GF could cost us. Even having to travel to Spingfield to face Brisbane in the GF could hurt us. Still seems odd to me that as the number 1 seed we're not allowed to host the VFL GF in our home city but all other finals participants can. Having said all that, winning an away GF in Melbourne could be a character building experience for the playing group and something Dimma can use to springboard into 2024. Fingers crossed we can get the job done.
