It's official. We have finished the VFL season in 5th position. Our highest ever finish in the VFL and the second highest in our reserves history after a 4th place NEAFL finish in 2017.

Blues just won so that looks like our likely route now. Box Hill at home, Sydney in Sydney and then either Brisbane or Southport in Queensland. Not too bad considering we've beaten all of them this season.
I am hoping for Coast Clash Grand Final.

Brisbane beat Southport next week, then I am backing Southport in to beat Casey in the prelim

Does anyone know who will actually be available for the finals. I’m guessing players like Andrew, Hollands, Secco, Macpherson will be playing.

If the club is fair dinkum they would be putting in our strongest team possible. Do we want silverware and take the VFL seriously? I guess we will find out when the team is announced.

How great would that be! An all-Gold Coast VFL grand final haha. We've seen it happen plenty of times in the QAFL grand final in recent years but the VFL grand final would truly be something special!

No announcement however my guess is (to avoid AFLW clashes)
Saturday
Brisbane v Southport
Collingwood v Carlton

Sunday
Gold Coast v Box Hill
Casey v Sydney

Gold Coast junior footy grand finals scheduled to play on Metricon main deck this Saturday and Sunday…..

Was probably locked in ages ago without a second thought given to a VFL home final.

If that is the case then we might be playing at Southport or on the training oval

AFL listed players need to have played 6 VFL games since July 1 to play finals. A quick look at our teams means that Fiorini, Bowes, MacPherson, Andrew and Hollands all can’t play. Probably more than that but that’s a lot of our midfield. Might also mean Sharp and even Atkins.

I have no idea about VFL rules but on AFL TONIGHT they talked about Melbourne Tom McDonald (coming from injury) to play this week in VFL! Not sure how is that possible if the rule you mentioned is correct.

Dunno!

I just saw another site say this: If they have played an AFL home and away match after the 1st of July, they must have played at least six VFL games during the season to remain eligible.

I probably read it wrong initially. Do’h.

So maybe those guys can all still play after all? Unsure. Will be keen to see when the team is announced.

The vfl side have only played 6 games in total since July 1st.

I think you must mean what you wrote the second time

I know Melbourne is aligned with Casey, but is Casey classed as a stand alone team or Melbournes Reserve team.........maybe different rules for stand alones...

Just checked and they're not a stand alone Club....

VICTORIA’s six standalone clubs will get the opportunity to experience the bonding advantages of interstate travel after they were handed similar tasks in the VFL fixture released last week.

All of Coburg, Frankston, Northern Bullants, Port Melbourne, Werribee and Williamstown will fly out three times for the season, with all being given two trips to Queensland and one to Sydney.
