Good Call Truck. Can somebody throw some light into Murrabits form? There net losses of players didn't look that bad but the results show different. And what has happened to L Bott, hailed as leading goal kicker, appears to be struggling. Or is he another one of these people that come from a "major league" and think is is all going to be easy. Welcome to GRFL, its a bit tougher than most think.

Lachie hasn't played the same FF role as he did round 1 and 2. Still playing some good footy but has played more in the midfield lately, also did play down back for a bit against Wakool.
Is quite a versitle player.

The losses of Jordan Hayes, Mick O'Toole, Ryan Walker and in particular Leigh Millard out of the midfiled has to have hurt them. A couple were probably only fringe players, but Millard was their 2009 B&F winner and best player, and to have O'Toole and Walker in the middle as well. They should get better though

Great to see Brock Weston coming back to moula from Belconnen, will dominate. Must be Ices great recruiting powers:thumbsdown:

I recall Brock being an absolute gun through junior footy, whilst all the hype surrounded Marcus Nalder, Brock had him covered on all levels. That being said, Marcus was and is a very good player in his own right.

Whilst Brock was good Snibs Marcus was clearly the better player at that time as a thirds and seniors BF in the same year I do believe would attest.

After 6 rounds in the GRFL who has surprised, who has met expectations and who is underwhelming so far. We are a third of the way into the season now with 2 teams undefeated. Quambatook are one of those teams but are yet to have played Wandella or Nullawil who are most likely the teams to finish top 2. But you can only play the teams you are drawn to play and it will be interesting to see how they go against them two and also the rematch against Ultima at Ultima. As has been said before, Murrabit have started off slow so will they be able to regain some confidence and post some more wins on the board in the latter half of the season. Wandella and Nullawil have taken everything in their stride with one loss between them when Nullawil won against Wandella by a solitary point. Ultima has 3 home wins from 3 and 3 away losses from 3. The losses have been against quality opposition with Quambatook the one getting away and they did blitz Nullawil in that opening term. It looks as though all they need to do is start playing consistent footy over 4 terms and they will be right up there but thats what you expect from a team with a fair few young new recruits. From the website the top 10 players are
Jack Perrignon (Hay)
Dwayne Delmenico (Ultima)
Robert Main (Moulamein)
Jayden Kiel (Ultima)
Bede Mahon (Ultima)
Christopher O'Connor (Wakool)
Tyler Miles (Wandella)
Brendan Gaynor (Hay)
Kaine Malone (Hay)
Scott O'Neill (Macorna)

This is just based on how many times the players have been named in the best for their respective teams and ranked by whether they were 1st best, 2nd best etc. A few new names there as well as a few old ones. Can anyone give some more details on how some of these players are playing to consistently get in their teams best. Obviously they must be playing good but what are they doing to stand out.

With the exception of Tyler Miles, the rest are obviously good players in ordinary teams, so that would make them stand out over the others. The top teams have more players with the ablility to play and share the workload so there is not a real 'stand-out' that appears in the best each week, except for Miles as mentioned, who must be having a good year.

i wouldnt say ultima is an ordinary team

With Ultima getting so many new young recruits I would have thought it would be harder, not easier for certain players to get up there as they have a more even spread

Would I be correct in saying Football4Eva that there was an unsavoury act of thuggery that involved one of the Mahon lads whereby Kyle Gillingham was felled a long way off the ball with a king-hit? If this incident exists then what sort of penalty would he be looking at? As I understand Kyle has extensive facial injuries as a result so not looking good. If indeed you do follow Ultima?

From what I have heard is that Mahon is facing the Tribunal tonight and doesn't get the choice to plead guilty for early weeks, he has to face the full penalty which could/should be the season, due to the fact that umpire Howden saw the incident a good 50 metres off the ball.
That might not be all Mahon has to worry about if Gillingham wishes to take it further.
Going to be a big blow to Ultima either way.

Well quite silly behaviour I think. If Ultima are to make a push for the four then they will need a hands on deck as they don't have the depth. Howden I wouldn't think mince his words either so looking pretty bleak for Mahon.

was not a king hit mate and was not a long way off the ball. im not condoning the incident in anyway but id get facts right before making those statements as i think i am correct in saying you did not witness the incident.

Well of course I wasn't there Chubbs, probably why I asked about said incident. Was talking to a player of the match and he said it happened a long way off the play. I thought that this was the purpose of this forum, to discuss what has been happening in the league. So please, your turn Chubbs, what is your take?
