Re: Adam Goodes offered a reprimand

Hang on a minute. Didn't the Eagles player have his head over the ball?? Then you have Bob Murphy giving a shirt front, which correct me if I'm wrong is taught to players?? You'd also struggle to find a fairer player than Murph. Scratching my head.

I'll now sit back and view the Swanette fans defending Goodes and the system.

Once again there is nothing in the rules that prohibt Goodes from bumping Selwood from the side. He is entitled to do that.

What he is not entitled to do is approach a player from front on and make contact to his head with a bump.

If Goodes had been coming from the front of Selwood and had tried to bump, he would have been assessed as reckless and would be now sitting out for the next two weeks.

Re: Adam Goodes offered a reprimand

I cant say I've seen the incident, but what bigfooty has to remember, is that Goodes is a whole lot more valuable to the AFL than some bloke from other teams. Conspiracy or not, The AFL want Goodes to play.

Suck it in supporters of shit teams.

Thats no way to talk about yourself.

Re: Adam Goodes offered a reprimand

This is exactly what i mean Supporters should be Angry at the MRP, but instead they direct their angry at the Swans being labeled as protected species etc etc when its the MRP that it's at fault, of course we would try to get one of our players off every club would be the same, but if the MRP was consistent then Goodes would of went for 1-2 weeks regardless of what our supposed QC and lawyers can do.

Re: Adam Goodes offered a reprimand

Wow... why not, what about the elbow he threw that he was once again offered a reprimand for?

If you are talking about the Port game charge the details are as follows -

Adam Goodes (SYD), striking Port Adelaide's Matt Thomas: assessed as negligent contact (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points), equaling four points, a Level One offense, 80 demerits and a reprimand. He has 70.31 demerits held over from the past 12 months, increasing the penalty to 150.31 demerits and a one game suspension. An early plea would have reduced the penalty 25% to 112.73 demerits, still a one game suspension.

Goodes decided to contest the charge at the Tribunal. In his defense, Goodes stated that he was trying to shrug off Thomas to avoid falling himself on the hard surface near the center wicket area during a tackle and that Thomas tripped over his legs. Goodes further explained that playing surface at the Sydney Cricket Ground was the hardest he had seen in years and that Thomas was dazed not as a result of a strike but rather due to hitting his head on the hard ground. Video evidence was inconclusive and the Tribunal panel therefore dismissed the charge.

The 70.31 points from Round 5 2007 have now expired.

Re: Adam Goodes offered a reprimand

No, no they won't.

OK, so people won't remember Goodes as a champion dual Brownlow medallist.

I wonder how your club will go down in history? Kerr needed some of his preferred elixir on Sat night.

Judd will spill the beans eventually - probably 20 years from now but we will get the full story.

About the same time we work out a cure for whatever mental defect inspired Barry Hall to hit Staker? Or for the VFL to shift a team to Sydney. And no doubt in 20 years you'll still be suggesting that Kerr was on drugs. Bit sad really.

Re: Adam Goodes offered a reprimand

No he will be remembered for the 2 brownlows he has 1

He might also be remembered for losing one this year now.

Are you calling Staker a mental defect?
