Got my membership today!

I GOT MY MEMBERSHIP TODAY!!!!

What does it mean when it's a fully ticketed match. Why do you have to buy a ticket?

Whats the point in getting a membership if you still hvae to pay to go to the games.

Edit: Just did a search and found out that you just have to show em your membership and you get a free ticket. That's good then. Round 2 here I come!

It means that if the game is a chance of being a sell out, u have have buy a ticket if u haven't got a reserve seat. games like essendon vs geelong and hawthorn and even most other melb teams at the dome. u should have got a reserve seat with your membership. its a must. the only games where u will b able 2 get in is prob the interstate teams at the dome.

Yeah I dont have the money to get a reserve seat. I read that if you get there early, you just go to the ticket booth and get a free ticket.

mate, unfortunately that's not the case afaik...if it's fully ticketed, you must have a reserved seat. Don't worry too much, they range in price from about $35 (premium) to just $3 (upper levels).

Look, it's a pain. It's one of the reasons I don't like the dome compared to the G, but there's nothing that can be done about it, and it does make us financially stronger.

Best thing to do if you don't want to buy a seasons reserved seat is, once you work out whether you'll go that week, at work (or school or where-ever) get on the ticketek site, book a seat for the base rate, and print it out yourself. That will save you having to queue at the ground, which is what pisses me off more than the money, tbh.

So you still have to pay extra each week, which sucks, but it's not too much

I got a letter saying i have to pick it up at one of our home games.

Probably won't get a chance to get it as i'm moving o/s in 2 weeks and don't know if i will make it back for any games.

As a result of this i'm not sure if i should cancel my 2 x high mark memberships or keep them and leave them for friends to use while i'm away.

I guess it will depend ont he seats they give me. I just upgraded to high mark for 2009. If the seats are on the wing or directly behind the goals as requested, i will probably hang onto them. If they shaft me like they did last year, when i paid for premium A but ended up stuck deep in the pocket, i probably won't bother.

You are considering not being a member over the sake of a couple of dollars?

If you don't want to get stuffed around on game day buy a reserved seat online during the week. It will cost you a couple of dollars.

If you ant to avoid any hassles simply buy a reserved seat. This way you can rock up a couple of minutes before the game and be seated before the opening bounce.

As for the G i think it would depend on the game. I would say that our home game against the Pies will be fully ticketed so you will need to reserve a seat.

My question is when do i get to pick my reserved seating? I guess i will have to call the footy club on monday.

Did you buy online? If you did you had to elect to add a reserve seat on and you picked which area you wanted when you bought your membership.

yeh i purchased online. i didnt add the reserve seat option because with the highmark membership, the seat is included in the price. if i selected a seat, it would add the seat price to the cost of the membership. instead of each membership being $560?, it would be $700 with the seat. there was no option to choose a highmark membership seat.

From what I can tell you automatically get seats on the wing at Telstra Dome (also known as premium A) and you get given the best available ticket at the MCG. Though you will have to by a reserve seat if it's an away game. Though if you wanted to get your seat moved, you might be able to ring the club up and ask them NICELY (no angry rant, won't get you anywhere) if you could be moved to which ever area you prefer.

You'll find out your exact seats when you receive your card (which with any luck should be about 2 weeks.)

I contacted the club today. Was told to send an email through with seat requests. They informed me that they are backlogged by about six weeks with requests so it will be a while before I find out my seat allocations. I requsted anywhere between aisles 33 to 40 as close to front as available. Thanks again guts.
