Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

I think we can officially call this season the GVFL/NTFL. As there would be close to a 18-20 players that are from or have either played in the NTFL.

Its good to see the NT Talent coming down this way

Its great to see the GV Boys going up to NT :thumbsu:

Cios comes from great footballing pedigree given he's my cousin. :) (except he is actually a decent footballer)
Usually plays twos, been at Mansfield his whole life and played probably 50 odd senior games.
29 y-o, 6'4 defender/ruckman/senior bench warmer, 120kg, fitness is an issue, but will scare young children in they look directly at him.:thumbsu:

Nothing for the Seymour boys to get too concerned with, i wouldn't think

Huge wins by Rochester and Echuca!! Where does that leave the Swans?

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

I see this fella is lining up a CHB, anyone got any info on his footballing abillity? will he be an asset to the ky boys?
YOUNG HIGH LEAPING LEFT FOOTER WHO CAN PLAY BACKLINE OR GO UP FORWARD GOOD TALL PLAYER,PLAYED WITH WITHERS,SINGH AND ATKINS AT TAHS AS WELL AS THOSE THREE NICE BOYS WHO CAME UP FROM KY FOR A SEASON

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Good win for Seymour coming from behind at the last break.
Once again Seymour were up against it when it come to the free kicks, it's been round 8 last year since Seymour have had more free kicks than the other side.
An official complaint has been forwarded to the league.
During the finals series last year the opposition team had 51 more free kicks than Seymour in their three games.

They will still make the 6. Behind Mooroopna, Seymour, Rochester, Euroa, Mansfield, Echuca, ....oh hang on, maybe 7th....:D:D:D. Then Kyabram, ShepUnited, Benalla, ShepBears and finally Tatura.:mad:

Good maths there mate- i really thought they may finish 1-4 but i doubt that at the moment. Echuca's win has opened things up a bit. They have a big challenge V Seymour this week and the lions don't play well at echuca.:thumbsu:

Big call this early in the season. I remember Seymour not even being in the top 6 in round 8 last year.

Still a long way to go fella's, considering we have only played 6 rounds.

I also hear Looby may be coming back to play in the red and white for the 2008 season?

Handy inclusion!

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Some interesting facts to note:
Euroa only had two goalkickers vs Echuca in Jansz and Bamford!
Big Balraj continues to struggle against the better performed sides - has only had one decent game - obviously against Tatura. Out of form? That big pay packet of his is not being warranted as yet.
Seymour is like Geelong - probably stuck in third gear and put their foot down when it matters.
And Tat was actually leading at half-time! Stay positive fellas.

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

There is a guy playing in the Riddell League from Shepp United called Ben Black playing for Woodend .Can anyone tell us what sought of player he is.Also how is Ruane going @ Euroa .He is missed @ Diggers Rest even though we are 4/1.

Even a bigger call from you if your saying Swans are like Seymour!!

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

tat actually won 3 out of 4 quarters.. they just let themselves down in the third quarter

Yeah that 3rd quarter was a shocker, but a good win for Tat in the thirds.
Lets hope they can keep the young kids there, would be a shame if they went searching for some instant team success at the nearby district clubs.
Are Tat really that short of money at the moment or is it more of a case of not being able to entice some gun players due to the lack of recent success?

i think it is mainly that they cant entice people to come to the club due to the situation.. tat really just need a good spine of players, and from there they will become very competitive.. and with the junior players, it is very much a similar situation the the seniors 2003 flag side, the majority of those players all came through the junior levels together in a good side.. and they eneded up playing in a senior grand final together,. i believe that the situation is very similar

Yep cheers mate hope they get out of the doldrums, a couple of years is acceptable but no club deserves to be that far down for four years.
Was there a fortnight ago and they easily have the best facilities in the league.
Hows young Luke McPhillamy going? I'm a distant relative to him and always try to keep track on how he's going. He's welcome at Seymour whenever he wants to come down :):)

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

yeah they are some good facilities.. Luke is going alright, played 2's this week as he was coming back from injury, but played really well in the 2's. so i'd imagine he will be back in ones next week.. top bloke too, i think he's happy here at tat.. but im sure your welcome to merge over to tat!!

Are there any facilities in the GV better than Tat? Great social rooms, 2 good outdoor toilet facilities, good change rooms, always warm showers. Don't think ShepSwans or Mansfield have any of these. Mansfield big:thumbsu: is that they have a good play area for kids. My bro' plays in the Hume League and says nearly every club has a kids play area between the football and netball areas. At Tat we have a road! Kyabram has great social rooms and lighting. Mooropna good change rooms, 2 food kiosks. I Haven't played yet at Deakin, Seymour or at Benalla since upgrades a couple of years back. I guess if we could get similar lighting to Ky's and a great kids play area to attract families to the games then the gate takings and memberships will start flowing in..... :)
