Could someone post it up if so.

For those of us who weren't there what did Saad actually do?

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

All reports have indicated you know absolutely nothing cellar dwellar...word is that Scanlon was sticking up for team mates in an "all in" and he was the only one pin pointed. Seems a bit strange to me. From all the reports I've heard him getting sent off was crap...Saad, not so crap. But he will do his time.

Seymour should employ the Shepparton advocate to get saad off. He seems to get every Shep player to ever front the tribuneral off scott free.

FBP.
From "all the reports have indicated", tells me that two of Seymours better players were sent off and Seymour lost the game. I would say that Seymour can be pulled back to the pack if you dont let them run around getting kicks. Put some real preasure on them, a clip behind the ear here and there, wait for them to self distruct and have a real chance of beating them. Seymour too good to beat when playing crapy girls football like they play down town, but serve up some real mans football and see who still stands at the end. On form Swans are no chance in beating Seymour this week but lets see how they take them on.

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Hows Relton Roberts and Rowan Bonson going for Euroa??
Both players should have been drafted if not for beeing abit home sick a few years back!
Both still 21 and 22 years old so they still might have a chance by having a great year!
Do you guys think they are draftable?

dont think the swans & lions will face off this week CD, in regard to seymour being pulled back to the pack as you like to put it may well be possible with the good old fashioned biff being applied to them, its fairly common knowledge that seymour dont fair to well with the umps so why not belt them around a bit hey, every chance its the lions players that will be penalised for it, hell why should a team that plays the ball be looked after in the gv.

both are guns ( bassed on the games i have seen ) and help lift the already good standard of GVFL, imo Relton Roberts would be worth a rookie listing at an afl club, would suit Freo.

Yeah Relton is a great player!
Played with him in Darwin and for The NT and i'd have to say he has the best skills of anyone i've played with and against!
Can kick goals from anywhere on he's right and left foot!
Has Bonson taking a few screamers yet?

haven't seen any, i dont follow the pies, so if he has i may not have been there, people around here are of the opinion that maybe the coolder weather may find them out, and the colder weather is now here the next couple of games may be very interesting for them, my gut feeling is they will be ok.

Heres a little about Rowan Bonson on he's Draft Profile on a Draft site from 2003

Rowan Bonson

Details:
Club: Nightcliff/NT
DOB: 8 Oct 85 Hgt: 183cm Wgt: 70kg
Position: Forward
Natural foot: Right

Honours:
Northern Territory 2003 (picked but didn't play)

Profile:
Earlier in the year I was watching NT playing Gippsland in the TAC Cup. It was the first time I'd seen them for the year so didn't know what to expect. One of the first players to catch my eye was this skinny Aboriginal with a ridiculous rat-tail haircut. He kicked 3.1 and set another goal up without even seeming to get out of 1st gear.

I thought nothing of it at the time, but it seems I was lucky, because it was the only game he played for the Northern Territory this year. He didn't come to the Nationals because his girlfriend didn't want him to come down!

Bonson is from Burunga, a tiny settlement about 100km from Katherine. Apparently he considered Darwin a big city, so any club drafting him would have a lot of work to do. It would be a HUGE gamble given how little football he played at a high level.

The reason I've included him however is both Darren Bewick and Chris Lewis say he is better than Raph Clarke - the best player in the state for his age. That's a huge wrap.

He looks tiny, but has a huge leap for his size, and once he bulked up could play forward. Already in the game I saw he was using his body well to get better position in the marking contest. He has very clean hands, great skills and a stuttering approach to goal, but it works. He could be anything, he could be nothing, we might never hear from him again. But from what I saw he has the raw talent to play at the highest level.

Wonder why no one picked him up??:confused:

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

Question? Can the league ask both clubs to supply the vidoe footage of the Saad Saad incident as they were both Videoing the Game on the day. My suggestion is that they can and if so i think Saad would be on the sidelines for at least 6-8 weeks. I was at the game and have also seen the footage. Whats people's take on that?

Dont need a video of the incident we all saw it Saad commited to go ,went and it was late. 3- 4 weeks and he will cop it on the chin.:thumbsu:

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

What happened with Mansfield and Danial Dai ?? posted on the Cairns forum they were glad to see him go or words to that effect.Cheers fellows

Re: Official GVFL Thread (part 2)

That will be a massive loss for not only euroa but also the entire leahue as he is one of the leagues premier midfielders.

I hope the story is not true.

He did get stretchered off but returned in the 3rd quarter and still did a bit, but was back on the pine icing it late in the 4th. It looked pretty bad though!

Im pretty sure Dan caused a bit of trouble one night presumably on the piss and it was the weekend he got dropped from the seniors. Would this be pretty close to the mark No Heart?

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I want him baaaaaack. Really good player.

Yeah he got on the piss and it did some stupid stuff, can't say I really know the full story though.
He's gone back to Cairns for a little while but he said should be back here soon. Apparently the door's still open for him to play for us.

reading the write up in the Seymour paper today about this game i was left with the impression that there is some bad blood between these two teams, i am a seymour supporter but didn't make the tripe to echuca and have not done so for a few years, and with echuca not having to play in seymour i dont get to see these two teams play very often, the articale made reference to the home team supporters being fairly antagernistic towards a number of the lions players, i suppose what i am getting at here is, what the hell really happened up there on the weekend:confused:

I heard Fish has had a gut full of him and doesn't want him back. Don't blame him, I wouldn't put up with it either as a coach. Thank god I'm not a coach.

Was at the game. Not sure what they are on about. It was Echuca's sponsors day and they probably had more support than normal at the game. Just a really good game of country footy. Plenty of niggle from both sides and from where I was standing, it seemed to simply be a lot of support from the crowd for Echuca. Any chance of posting the article or pulling out the main parts of it. Saad did continually give sections of the crowd (the bar and sponsors tent) the one finger salute on occasions, but if he was upset about comments made to him, then they were probably well deserved. Any news on the verdict with Saad? Makes for an interesting last game of the year. I noticed in the Weekender that Echuca are playing in Seymour, so that should keep everyone happy.

Saad copped two weeks at the tribunal last night, which means he misses the interleague and the game against the Swans. Personally I believe the suspension should be served in GVFL matches that are played for premiership points. Afterall this is where he committed the offence.

Interleague game won't count as part of his suspension - even though he can't play in it. Will miss Swans and Mooroopna games.

Charge costly for Saad

May 29 2008
Shepparton News

Seymour forward Saad Saad will not represent Goulburn Valley Football League at the Victorian Country Championships after being suspended at an independent tribunal hearing last night.
Saad received a two-match ban for charging Echuca's Craig Sutton, which saw him yellow-carded and reported by all six officiating umpires.

The contact forced Sutton to be stretchered from the ground as he was deemed to have been knocked unconscious.

Saad pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the three-hour hearing, the tribunal heard evidence from all six reporting umpires - including one via telephone link - and from an eyewitness who was a spectator at the game relating to the incident.

Sutton could only recall the moments leading up to the incident and was only aware he had been unconscious when alerted by a team doctor.

Saad maintained he had eyes only for the ball and bumped into him while contesting for the mark and no intention of causing any harm to Sutton.

After all the evidence had been heard, it was established Saad had made front-on contact to Sutton and he was found guilty of the charge.

Saad's advocate asked the tribunal to consider his good record - his only suspension prior to this case was last year - and consider a suspended sentence so he could line up for the Goulburn Valley at the championships this weekend.

After deliberation the tribunal dealt him a two-match ban, meaning he will miss the interleague carnival this weekend and Seymour's grand final rematch against Shepparton Swans in a fortnight.

Saad declined to comment after the hearing.
