Collingwood C-
Chips in on derying gravity and heavily dependent on being able to grab diamonds in the rough late in drafts or grabbing and recycling mature players in the near term.
Not a knock on Houston / Perryman, but the core group will be another year older, do they really help offset that slide?
Think I am very much in the minority, though, most of my mob seem to be touching themselves in saucy and erotic ways over this year's trade outcome.
Good luck to them and I hope they're right

Adelaide A-

We addressed midfielder/flankers which we needed & added 3 players who will make our best side.

  • Cumming FA
  • Neal-Bullen - 2nd rounder, slight overs imo
  • Peatling F3, F4 for F2, unders imo
  • F3 for current 3rd, which are not planning to use
- Himmelberg FA, would prefer to have kept but was depth

Kept pick 4 intact with 3 ins.

Much better than last year when we lost 2 1st choice players... & it showed when we struggled to cover injuries this season.

Darling trade - B- (laugh all you want but it fills a position we desperate need)
Parker trade - B+ (just for leadership, anything onfield is a bonus)
Daniel trade - D (significantly overpaid and adds to team problem of being a defensive sieve)

Overall a C+

Pretty happy with the outcome. Pick 14 wasn't improving us next season so trading it for future picks and then using future picks to sign Barrass is a win. Should slot in as our 2nd best defender after Sis and then we got Battle as a FA who will probably be our 3 or 4th best defender alongside Dimma and Scrimers.

Would be an A or a B+ at worst.

The pick 3 split, upon further reading into the draft isnt as bad as first thought. Still not ideal but not disastrous.
Pick 14 for Baker was the real stuff up, shouldve got a pick in the 20s back from Richmond to make it fair.
Barrass trade was fair.
Darling we basically swapped for Owies which is good. Darling gets an extra year or 2 and Owies is best 22 for us, so a win here

Lions were quiet but turned 20 and some junk into another Ashcroft and a potential midfielder in Marshall

Signing Day for forward depth is neither here nor there but we had no capital to chase a genuine Daniher replacement

Not exciting but getting a potential #1 pick after a flag is good business so an A for outcome and maybe a B for excitement level 😂

C: passing grade for an unremarkable trade period. Got Macrae for a good price, shuffled picks around a little, didn't do a whole bunch. Wouldn't be surprised if we're still making phone calls to Richmond or GWS about sliding a first rounder.

Yeah I don't mind the split of 3 when you consider the lack of top end stand outs, just 14 for Baker. Just feels like, why would you do it? At least get a 20s pick back from Richmond

Paid a lot for Bolton but f* me is a good addition

Yes we did and in previous years Freo have traded in talent that have underperformed. I hope it's not the case this time. If it works with Bolton then it's A grade if it doesn't (I'm feeling positive it will) then it's a D.

Feels like WC is that classic kid at school where 51% means they worked too hard, 49% not hard enough..... but is very content with a perfect 50/100 and a F### you to parents (members), school (media) and the career counselor (Mr Kane Cornes).

The Tigers wouldn't be interested in picks 7&8 they will only swap 6 for an earlier pick.

Dees A+
Western Bulldogs rolled over when Geelong came knocking, we didn't, and still have 2xAFLCA winner Clayton Oliver.
Brand Petracca wanted "Big Club" and we said "**** off".
Dan Houston would have cost us at least one first round pick so a big win scaring him away.
Got some guy from Premiership-Wining Current Flag Team Brisbane Lions so he must be good.

Lost Alexander Neal-Bullen for only a second round pick but he's near-30 so not the worst thing ever. Got reamed but there you have it.

Giving back your 2nd for ANB was more than fair.

We hardly reamed the Dees, if anything paying overs because we felt sorry for you after the McAdam deal.
