Terrible skills from us. Waaaaaaaayyyyy too fumbly. That's been an issue for ages though. We have difficulty with clean marking. We drop it when it's a sitter. Better marking would've meant a closer game, even a win.

Thought the effort was there.
Like I said in round 1, they’re the only team that can beat us entirely on system. We have been the standout system team for years.
Umpiring quality and noise of affirmation is a huge issue in aflw.

Malcolm Blight rationalised Geelong's loss to Hawthorn in the 1989 grand final by saying "somebody had to come 2nd" (to that Hawthorn side). I'm not trying to compare the 1989 Hawks to the 2024 Kangaroos women's team but the sentiment is similar.
The '89 grand final was at least close, though.

Was at the Great Northern Hotel last week to watch our prelim and one of the umpires for the Roos-port prelim was there trying to chat up a north Melbourne staff member.

Absolute testament to the verve and spirit of this group that we've had so much success over the AFLW journey, but tonight that verve and spirit was matched and our weaknesses ruthlessly exposed by a side setting a new benchmark for the competition. Well done NMFC.
