Other than the final siren.

1. Harry Taylor shitting himself
2. Cameron's Mooney's kicking
3. Brad Otten's ****-up
4. Stuart Dew
5. The last 5 and a half minutes of the 3rd Quarter.

It would be to hard to pinpoint 5 moments.

Cameron Mooney's three behinds.
Hodge's attack on the ball.
Ablett copping it near three quarter time.
Cyril Rioli's tackle on the wing.
Lance Franklin's tap down for Cyril Rioli's second goal.
Lance Franklin's first goal and second goal.
Lance Franklin's handball to Dew for his second goal.
Chance Bateman's goal.

watching the grandfinal in full again, my top five

1. Willo-Dew-Willo-Dew-Willo (there were actually 4 Geelong players withing 5 metres of that ball)

2. Cyrioli!!! the whole damn match. As Lyon kept goin on abotu on MMM the 10 most effective touches you will eer see.

3. not stated yet, free to willo on bartel for holding. Every Geelong player had sprinted 50m in the wrong direction, which proved how good of a run they got all year. they then started arguing that it was the wrong call aswell. Clas-sic:D

4. Trent Croad Bump. may have been out of frustration, but all heart.

5. Lance Franklin. All oposition fans look at stats (its all they hold against us) but he took scarlett out of the equation, and at times harley and a few others, leaving the goals wide open for the likes of rioli, dew, willo and roughy.

other notable mentions

Changa's opener for us
Roughy's kiss of the jumper
Crawf, as Garry Lyon said, he ran like a nut all day.
Young's goal from 60

but most importantly the whole HFC, didnt stand back in awe, played geelong like any team should, on our own terms, not on theirs.

My Top 5:

1. Final Siren.

2. 3rd Quarter Brilliance.

3. Young's goal from 60.

4. Mitch's goal.

1. Little Gazza's face after the game :D
2. Little Gazza's face after the game :D
3. Little Gazza's face after the game :D
4. Little Gazza's face after the game :D
5. Rioli's 3 on 1 inspirational bit of play in the 3rd quarter :eek::thumbsu:.

When Roughy kicks his goal in the last quarter he grabs his jumper with both mitts and and plants a big kiss on the jumper. I reckon the image is great one.

I like what it says about the way he feels about the club.

Not so much a moment but an image
absolutely brilliant moment, made me proud to be a hawk supporter knowing we have passionate die-for-the-club players at our disposal.

Happened at a vey important time of the match:thumbsu:

The more I watch the game, the more I see. This is a great thread to capture it all...

I think all of us Hawthorn fans who were (admittedly) spoilt by success in the 70's, 80's and 91 are really feeling the power and importance of this one, this new generation.

I travel alot with work, and have the game on my ipod. Cant wait for the day when I sit next to a Cats supporter...

Something new (I think) to add to this thread:

Hodgey settling Browny down, especially in the last quarter, telling him to 'shut up' when that decision went against him after that typically gutsy Campbell Brown mark. What a brilliant leader, the envy of all other clubs. Also Browny, guts and passion.

Now to watch the game again. Been saving the SEN commentary for the right time...

.

...also, the Hawks fans as Cyril kicks that goal with 5 mins to go in the 3rd quarter.

Can humans actually be more excited than this??

It would be the same feeling I would have if I ****ed Jennifer Hawkins.

NINE weeks after and I still can't reduce it to my 5 favorites. Cyril's goal, to quote Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, "Sends shivers down my spine".

I enjoyed each of the 18 goals we scored, it was like hammering nails into Geelong's coffin. The emotion of each goal was like the emotion of a whole game and the siren.

I have been to over 600 games of football, 45 Finals, 10 of which have been Grand Finals, I was at the 89 Grand Final. The emotion during the 'Dew Frenzy' and each subsequent replay is 1000 intense as 1989. I feel the same way each time I see the replay.

Extremely tough to nominate, but never forget being there on the day and the 5 minute period in the 3rd, roars of the crowd after each goal when we were 3 goals up, then 4, then 5 and the excitement with each goal- you really had to be there to feel it-

Anyways,

1. Willo- Dew classic to put us 4 up
2. Dewie puts us 5 up- never forget the feeling- think I secretly knew then we were home, wasnt until ladsons goal in the last tht I felt safe.
3. When we went 3 goals up in the 3rd, just the panic when Harry Taylor fumbled it and (if you watch dvd) gets tackled, crowd screams ball, before we knew it dew kicks a ripper.
4. Buddy's goal in the last. (& Bruce's commentary 'can he put the icing on the cake? he's done it, he's done it)
5. Lado's sealer and celebration.

Honourable mentions-
I could put that 5 min period (watched it 100 times on dvd) in the 3rd as the number 1 moment, those 2 moments in the last as my 2nd & 3rd, then the next two would have to be cyrils tackle 1 against 3 and Croadys courage when he broke his foot.
Other moments were hodge in general, getting early tough stats and the siren sounding.
