Two And A Half Men

200px-Twohalf.PNG

Two and a Half Men is an American television sitcom centered around a freewheeling bachelor, Charlie, whose carefree lifestyle is interrupted when his newly separated brother, Alan, moves in, along with his son Jake. Charlie and his nephew form an "unsuspecting bond" with each other.

On May 16, 2007, Two and a Half Men was renewed for a fifth season.

vs

The Munsters

200px-Themunsters.jpg

The Munsters is an American television sitcom depicting the home life of a family of monsters. It was the CBS network's answer to rival ABC's, The Addams Family. Much of the humor derived from the fact that they did not see themselves as being abnormal, but just slightly greener subjects of a Norman Rockwell painting. Comedy also came from their daily interaction with modern society, and the usual horrified reactions of others to their "ghoulish" appearance.

The show aired at night, once a week in black-and-white, on the CBS Television network from 1964 to 1966 for 70 episodes. It was cancelled after ratings dropped to an all-time low, due to the premiere of ABC's Batman, which was in full color. The Munsters have continued in syndication ever since. It was popular enough to warrant a clone series and several movies.

A contemporary television show, The Addams Family, which was also about a supernatural family and premiered five days earlier, is often considered a rival although The Munsters had higher Nielsen ratings.

That Girl

Thatgirllogo.jpg

That Girl was an American television situation comedy that ran on ABC from 1966 to 1971. It starred Marlo Thomas as the title character, Ann Marie, an aspiring (but only sporadically employed) actress, who had moved from her hometown of Brewster, New York to make it big in New York City. Ann had to take a number of offbeat "temp" jobs to support herself in between her various auditions and bit parts, though she nonetheless was able to afford a spacious Manhattan apartment as well as an extensive wardrobe of mod fashions. Ted Bessell played her boyfriend Donald Hollinger, a writer for Newsview Magazine; Lew Parker and Rosemary DeCamp played Lou Marie and Helen Marie, her concerned parents. Bernie Kopell and Ruth Buzzi played Ann & Donald's friends.

I know what was going on now ODNs. I quoted your post and then added the votes to it and then took out the hyper text thingy.
It's my OCD kicking in. When doing the update, I preview back to my last update as a reference point and count the votes in between anyway. I just wanted to be sure you weren't adding your votes on to update threads instead of listing them separately.

Match 47

The Drew Carey Show

200px-DrewCareyTVFaves.jpg

The Drew Carey Show was a long-running American sitcom (set in Cleveland, Ohio) that aired on ABC from 1995 to 2004 and was known for its "everyman" characters and themes. The show revolved around comedian Drew Carey, an office worker who has had a long-life working experience, and the highs and the lows of both his romances and his relationships to long-time friends, Lewis, Oswald and Kate.

Drew Allison Carey (Drew Carey) - The protagonist, a perpetual "nice guy." For most of the series, he works in the human resources department of Winfred-Louder, a multinational department store chain. He's portrayed as a lovable loser, though he's the most successful of his group of friends. Drew is the founder and co-owner of Buzz Beer, a special coffee-containing brew. He has a long-standing feud with Mimi Bobeck; his pranks have included destroying her clothes, shredding her vacation requests, and masquerading as Antonio Banderas to taunt her.

vs

F-Troop

180px-FTroop.jpg

F Troop is a satirical American television sitcom that originally aired from 1965-1967 on ABC. It premiered in the United States on September 14, 1965, ran for two seasons and finished its first run on April 6, 1967, for a total of 65 thirty-minute episodes.

F Troop is set at Fort Courage, Kansas, a fictional United States Army outpost in the West, in 1865, the year the American Civil War ended. The commanding officer at Fort Courage is the gallant but chronically clumsy and accident-prone Captain Wilton Parmenter (Ken Berry), the descendant of a long line of military leaders. He is awarded the Medal of Honor after accidentally instigating the final charge at the Battle of Appomattox. As a private, he is ordered to fetch his commanding officer's laundry. When he rides away on horseback to accomplish the errand, the pollen in the air causes him to sneeze repeatedly. He sneezes loudly just after he passes a group of soldiers, and they mistake this sneeze for the order "Charge!" His superiors, wishing to reward his action, promote him to captain and give him command of remote Fort Courage, a dumping ground for the least useful or trustworthy soldiers.

Much of the humor on the show was derived from the schemes of Captain Parmenter's non-commissioned officers, Sergeant O'Rourke, and Corporal Agarn, and the local Indian tribe, the Hekawis, alternately seeking to expand and conceal their enterprising business, O'Rourke Enterprises, as well as the struggles of Parmenter to exert his authority and escape the matrimonial plans of his girlfriend, shopkeeper "Wrangler" Jane.

Match 48

Cheers

200px-Cheers_intro_logo.jpg

Cheers is a popular American situation comedy produced by Charles-Burrows-Charles Productions in association with CBS Paramount Television for NBC. Cheers was created by the team of James Burrows, Glen Charles, and Les Charles. The show is set in the Cheers bar (itself named for the toast "Cheers") in Boston, Massachusetts, where a group of locals meet to drink and generally have fun. The show's theme song was written by Judy Hart Angelo and Gary Portnoy, and performed by Portnoy[1] with its famous refrain, "where everybody knows your name", that also became the show's tagline.

After premiering on September 30, 1982, it was nearly cancelled during its first season when it ranked dead last in ratings.[2][3] However, Cheers eventually became a highly rated television show in the United States, earning a top-ten rating during eight of its eleven seasons, including one season at #1, and spending the bulk of its run on NBC's "Must See Thursday" lineup. Its widely watched series finale was broadcast on May 20, 1993, and the show's 273 episodes have now entered into a long and successful syndication run. The show earned 26 Emmy Awards, out of a total of 117 nominations.[4] The character Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) was featured in his own successful spin-off, Frasier.

The character of Sam Malone was originally intended to be a retired football player and was originally supposed to be played by Fred Dryer, but after casting Ted Danson it was decided that a former relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox would be more believable.[5] The character of Cliff Clavin was created for John Ratzenberger after he auditioned for the role of "Norm". While chatting with producers afterwards, he asked if they were going to include a "bar know-it-all", the part which he eventually played.[6] Kirstie Alley joined the cast when Shelley Long left, and Woody Harrelson joined when Nicholas Colasanto died. Danson, George Wendt, and Rhea Perlman were the only actors to appear in every episode of the series.[7] Paul Willson, who played the recurring barfly character of "Paul", made early appearances in the first season as "Glen", was credited as "Gregg", and also appeared in the show as a character named "Tom".[8]

vs

Dharma & Greg

200px-Dharma%26Greg.jpg

Dharma & Greg is an American television situation comedy co-produced by Chuck Lorre Productions, More-Medavoy Productions and 4 to 6 Foot Productions in association with 20th Century Fox Television for ABC. It first aired from September 24, 1997, to April 30, 2002, and starred Jenna Elfman and Thomas Gibson as Dharma and Greg Montgomery, a couple who marry instantly on their first date despite being complete opposites. The series also starred television veteran actress and Falcon Crest alumna, Susan Sullivan as Greg's snobbish mother, Kitty.

Jenna Elfman as Dharma Freedom Montgomery, née Finkelstein, Greg's wife and a flower child. She is extremely peppy and ditzy, but she also seems to be more compassionate and forgiving than most people. Dharma encourages Greg to seek happiness, rather than fret about practical issues like money. Due to being homeschooled by Abby and Larry, she has a limited understanding of Western culture and is very naïve when it comes to trusting strangers. She is named after the concept of dharma in Indian philosophy. Once, a Native American friend of her father's gave her the name "Crazy Man's Daughter".

Match 49

Fawlty Towers

250px-Fawlty_Towers_title_card.jpg

Fawlty Towers is a British sitcom made by the BBC and first broadcast on BBC2 in 1975. Only twelve episodes were produced, but the series has had a lasting and powerful influence on later shows.

The show is set in a fictional hotel Fawlty Towers in the Devon town of Torquay on the "English Riviera". The series was written by John Cleese and Connie Booth, both of whom played main characters, and was broadcast in two series: the first, in 1975, was produced and directed by John Howard Davies, and the second, in 1979, was produced by Douglas Argent and directed by Bob Spiers.

In a list of the 100 Greatest British Television Programmes drawn up by the British Film Institute in 2000, voted for by industry professionals, Fawlty Towers was placed first.[1] It was also voted fifth in the BBC's "Britain's Best Sitcom" poll in 2004.[2]

vs

Mister Ed

250px-MrEd.jpg

later.

The stars of the show are Mister Ed, an intelligent talking palomino American Saddlebred ("played" by gelding Bamboo Harvester), and his owner, architect Wilbur Post (played by Alan Young). Much of the program's humor stemmed from the fact Mister Ed would speak only to Wilbur. According to the show's producer, Arthur Lubin, Young was chosen because "he seemed like a guy a horse would talk to." Lubin, a personal friend of Mae West, scored a coup and persuaded the legendary screen icon to guest star in one episode.

Match 50 - 3 way

News Radio

240px-NR-Cast-2.jpg

NewsRadio was an American sitcom, originally broadcast from 1995 to 1999 on NBC. The series is set at WNYX, a fictional news radio station in New York City populated by an eccentric station owner and staff. The show began with the arrival of new news director, level-headed Dave Nelson (Dave Foley), fresh from the heartland of Wisconsin. While Dave turns out to be less naive than his youthful appearance suggests, he never fully gained control of his co-workers.

The fast-paced scripts and ensemble cast combined physical humor and sight gags with smart dialogue and absurdist storylines. Plots frequently involved satirical takes on historical events, news stories and pop culture references appealed to a sophisticated, college-educated target audience. The third- and fourth-season finales took the absurdism to the extreme, setting the characters first in a news radio station in outer space, and then as crew members aboard the Titanic.

There are 97 episodes of NewsRadio.

vs

The Mary Tyler Moore Show

235px-MTM.jpg

Mary Tyler Moore is an American television sitcom created by James L. Brooks and Allan Burns that aired on CBS from September 19, 1970 to March 19, 1977. It was "one of the most acclaimed television programs ever produced" in US television history.[1] It also was a breakthrough for leading female characters in television, as it was the first time that a central figure on a television show was an independent career woman: "As Mary Richards, a single woman in her thirties Moore presented a character different from other single TV women of the time. She was not widowed or divorced or seeking a man to support her."[1]

Over a seven year period, it received high praise from critics and Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series three years in a row (1975, 1976, and 1977). It continued to be honored long after the final episode aired. In 2007, Time Magazine placed the Mary Tyler Moore Show on its unranked list of "100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME".
vs

Trailer Park Boys

225px-Trailerparkboys.jpg

Trailer Park Boys is a popular Canadian mockumentary television series focusing on the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, some of whom are ex-convicts living in fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park, located near Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. It premiered in April 2001. The show's creator and director was Mike Clattenburg.

Shot from the cameraman's point of view (à la COPS), the low-budget program became something of a rarity in English Canada: a homegrown phenomenon. For example, characters (particularly Bubbles) often appear on novelty tee-shirts. The show's lead trio formerly toured with Our Lady Peace, and with Guns N' Roses, with whom Bubbles sings his trademark song "Liquor and Whores". The Trailer Park Boys have also appeared in music videos with The Tragically Hip, while Bubbles has appeared with George Canyon and Snow, and they have been presenters at numerous award shows - always in character. Several famous artists appear on the show, such as Alex Lifeson from Rush in "Closer to the Heart", singer Rita MacNeil in the season four finale "Working Man", Sebastian Bach from Skid Row, and singer/songwriter Denny Doherty in the season seven finale "A Shitriver Runs Through It".

Fawlty Towers easily.

Should have been seeded.
It has been. Top of the 4th 1/4 of the draw. Match 49-64. There is another perceived big seed at 64 and smaller seeds generally along the line in each section of 8. So basically Fawlty Towers has been seeded in the top 8.

Based on observations, the top 8 seeds have been positioned as such from top of the draw to bottom of the draw:

MASH
Simpsons
Seinfeld/Blackadder - take your pick
Office (UK)
Extras/Married With Children - again take your pick
Cheers
Fawlty Towers
Young Ones/Get Smart - take your pick
