Guys who need a week ( or 3 ) back in the SANFL

VB ?? Youre not serious are you........

Tippett gets a rest if Griffin comes back in as expected. But the others stay in because Otten isnt ready, Mackay still needs another week at South too.

We cant keep playing young guys for the sake of it, Collingwood will smash us and dare I say it, the Powderpuffs will fancy their chances too.

Rather play some players in the SANFL into our team now.

Get some AFL conditioning into them.

Lets play Walker at least, give him the run and experience, especially will be ok if Burton and Gill are around

Yeah, i can't wait to see him play, i think he deserves a go by now. Also i assume VB is Van Berlo? I don't think he's doing too bad. Bernie's definently doing great.

IMO wrong approach

these guys will learn nothing at sanfl, we need to keep playing the young players, I do not care about the final 8 this year

the club needs to re-think it's direction

Key question, do we build for the future nor or again aim to finish in the middle of the park for 2008 and delay our progress, I would rather the club build for the future now, let's not make the same mistakes as the Power and keep picking players that will not take us to the ultimate success

In specific to VB, he is not an attacking midfielder and NC needs to change his role, instead of sending him back to the sanfl I would like NC to change his role to a tagger and Radar's role across HB

Douglas is another that needs to be played in the midfield or across HB

IMO it's time to get rid of the servicable players that are preventing progress, these players include Shirley, Massie, Gill and Stevens and bring in Kite, Walker, Dangerfield and Otten

As a club, lets not wait until the end of the year to make the tough calls

we played Gill, Massie, Stevens and Shirley tonight and we got smashed

lets show some courage at the selection table, or do we do a Power and wait

to be honest I am tired of finishing a creditable middle table finish, I would rather risk 2008 finals and invest in players that will take us to success in the next few years. all we are doing is treading water

I see what youre saying and in a sense I agree but the flipside of that is we bring in the Otten's, Dangerfield's etc and they get a thumping by the Pies next week...... it does NOTHING for them either.

Im of the believe you learn nothing from being belted, which is contrary to popular belief. You only have to look at Port. They get belted in a Grand Final and you can see it still eats at all of them in the way most of the team are playing. Do we risk bottoming out totally or do we make the finals this year, a task which most thought out of our reach, and even possibly win one.

Geelong, Hawks and the Dogs have all set the standard for 2008, all three clubs were prepared to take short term pain to build for a genuine chance of success.

My view, under NC we have never been a genuine flag chance, NC has got the most out of a servicable list, I would rather look at the bigger picture, if we don't we risk going nowhere and always finishing somewhere creditable without tasting real success.

Lets be honest, would we really lose that much by replacing Gill, Shirley and Massie with Walker, Dangerfield and Kite

I think your aiming your axe at the wrong end a bit, too many of our in between players and older players look way too comfortable they all need to start taking whatever Maric is on cause he just trys his ass off!

Burton not good enough for a player with his rep..

Goodwin getting better but still a little off with his kicking

Massie why did we bother, he did a few good things admitadly but were they worth more than his bad moments?

Rutten, if you play behind even an avergae forward like Mr no kidney can kick 4 on you!!

Bass I'm sorry to say is getting worse every week, although up forward he looked good.

NC also could prob do with a couple weeks back in the 2's. He waits for things to happen before he makes moves if he makes them, Put Bocky on the wing if he's going to be picking up a small forward he's got the engine for it!!

Tippett needs to go back and find some form. He is a long way off where we need him to be and there is no point in putting him out there each week like this. Give the bloke a chance. Hard to watch at times.

Symes was awful tonight. Got a lot of the ball but was atrocious with his disposal and needs to be dropped. I know there the top side, but that's the barometer, and he couldn't handle it.

Knights needs to get some confidence. His disposal has gone backwards from where he was last year, and you cringe when he gets it now.

I know we played the top side, and they were awesome. But it really showed how many holes are in our game at the moment. We are a long way of where we want to be.

How bout this......

Go back to SANFL , have 1 ( or 3 ) 30+ touch games and get your swagger back or ,
keep getting OWNED week after week in the AFL picking up 15 disposals ( +5 clangers ) until your confidence is shot and it actually HINDERS your development !

In my view, keep playing the lads at afl standard is the best development environment, I would rather them play ar the elite level in our structure, the SANFL is doing plenty for Sellar's development

In my opinion, VB, Knights, Douglas, Radar and Vince need to get AFL games under their belt, they need to build experience at this level

ahh the irony. Normally we complain that our kids play too much SANFL before they step into the AFL now after a few poor games, we want to send them back there. The only youngster I would remotely consider sending back to the SANFL would be Tippett. He is badly out of form and needs to get his hands on the ball (in any league) to regain confidence.

Another poor thread.

Get a clue people.

So glad most of you guys are not involved in any official way with the AFC.

You all let your emotions get in the way of any rational thinking.

I would just settle for sacking the coach this week. If we lose next week then we can start delisting players, burning effigies etc.

:D:D:D

I don't think that radical changes to the side in 2008 is the way to go. Geelong were great last night and no one else in this competition would have got close to them.
I agree Tippett needs time back in the SANFL to regain confidence. He looks lost out there at present and has for quite awhile.

Stupid Stupid Bloody F'n Stupid

You would be one of those argueing we don't play kids enough or some crap and you want to drop 6 KIDS

Who would you like to come in for these 6 guys, because incase you haven't notice, we're not swimming in depth.

It will be good for their future developement to go through this.

spot on

OK your right I let my emotions lead to me agreeing to drop half the side, I've settled down now. But I have to deal with 3/4 of my mates being Geelong supporters do you know what thats like??

I still beleive the below though... maybe i'll get a new number on my jumper??

Geez if we drop half the blokes mentioned above and in other threads and on the radio talkback, we will have to play the orange boys to find 22 players to get on the field.

I guess reactions by supporters after a club loses show why for example supporters should not get to elect the board/administrators nor have a major involvement in the decision-making of a footy club.
(And if i may digress, the same could be said for allowing everyone to vote in the running of a country :D )

Having said all that, I would declare that generally i agree with the sentiments expressed by Eastern Crow:

- "....these guys will learn nothing at sanfl, we need to keep playing the young players, I do not care about the final 8 this year
