Sick of pathetic supporters with pathetic lives whingeing about a player taking an offer he couldn't refuse.
If these pathetic whiners were offered double or triple the money from another employer I'd love to see how loyal they would be to there work mates!!!
Laughable!!!!

A lot of talk about club loyalty here - well its a two way street Melbourne whingers.

Discarded captain when it suited them.

Discarded coach when it suited them.

Lots of loyalty there. . .

Scully didn't choose Melbourne. Left at the first opportunity

It is Melbourne's fault for not making his workplace environment sufficiently attractive.

Hey, Dusty is sticking with Richmond, even if GWS would have been closer to his Dad.

This is a great day for professional footballers within the AFL.

Haha what a load of crap, Melbourne was attractive enough for Frawley, Watts, Trengove, Sylvia etc to sign up. $cully wanted money plain and simple.

I'm not trying to have a go at Richmond here. At the end of the day, Richmond were forced to sign up a very young player for a lot more than they would have had to if the inflationary pressures of the expansion clubs being able to poach a player after his first contract didn't exist.

I am not saying Martin isn't worth the money, rather Richmond were forced to pay on potential, not performance.

Not trying to have a go at Essendon, but isn’t that the same as Essendon paying Hird on potential, not performance. :)

As for Scully, good luck to the kid. At least under Sheeds & Choco he'll be coached to play to his potential. :thumbsu:

Yeah I did, quickly filmed it when I heard the announcement haha. Cheers, hopefully it gets a few views.

Scum of the highest order.

Leaves a struggling club in a time of need.

Some might say Gary is cut that Geelong is still awesome without him but at least it shows that they needed to get him out of that salary cap for league fairness and pay fairness for him and everybody back at Geelong.

I can't see why Melbourne couldn't match this deal. Where's all the cash going?

Salary cap mystery, fill up $8-9 mill on nobodys. Well done MFC. :thumbsu:

Apparently he is getting $2m next year....no club could afford that.

So what exactly happened in Shanghai?

Please stop

I understand you blokes are in defense mode, but trying to spin this as a good thing because you get 'much needed salary cap relief' is just beyond embarrassing.

Collingwood and Geelong have significantly more talent on their lists than Melbourne and they make do with their caps. Melbourne isn't going to have pressure on its salary cap for about 10 years at the rate it's going.

Please stop

If you can't comprehend the benefits that will flow to Melbourne's salary cap management in the next five years by NOT paying a 20-year-old $600k a season, no one here can help you.

Frank Marchesani anyone?

he didnt make any more at Carlton then he would have at Fitzroy. That was a massive lie made up by the media back then and utter rubbish.
The move was never financial and unfortunately for Frank he ended up having health issues with his lungs and was never the same player
