He already has 200 goals.

I would say he will get 250 games and 450 goals.

He's 26 and played ~130 games. To get to 250, he'd need to play another 5+ years (depending on finals). No doubt, he is a very durable guy, but not many Eagles make it past 30. The travel is just too much strain. Plus, I just can't see him being in the best 22 for another five years.

As for goals, he'd need to average 50 goals per year over those five years. To date, he has only kicked 50+ twice, playing more or less at full forward both seasons. I can't see him kicking 50+ playing on the flank, or even at half forward.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the guy. But 250 games and 450 goals would make him one of the all-time great Eagles. And I just don't think he's that sort of player.

He played early on on the backline and halfback line. Even when playing full forward he was not a primary option to goal (and it tooko him two years to learn how to mark on the lead and let alone in a one on one contest situation).

He is now by far more skilled player then the one who used to play out of the goal square. Not only is he able to mark on the lead and in a contested situation his kicking and efficiency has improved markedly.

I think that my prediction regarding the goals he will kick is slightly optimistic but not out of the realm of possiblity and hell I like being an optimist. Assuming that he does not have any serious injuries (touch wood) I predict that either he of Cox is likely to become our first player to reach 300 games (I was slightly conservative, on this, in my initial post.).

certainly quite important to our team.

But why is he such a bad decision-maker? At times yesterday he got the ball and looked stuck in between about 10 different options every time.

At least he can kick big.

Bad decision maker could be slightly over-selling it.

There is no doubt that he is not and never will be in the class of Greg Williams but I would suggest that his decisionmaking like his game has improved in leaps and bounds since when he first started in AFL.

The thing I like about him is that he is aware of his shortcomings and he does stick with percentage type plays rather then tries to be overly creative with the football.

Good old Lynchy. The boy from Grass Patch. He's become a fantastic player, but the thing I like best about him is some of his mannerisms. Check out the 54second mark of that youtube. The Eagles are miles in front and Big Q clearly has no intention of doing anything other than having a long-range shot at goal. Check out how he "looks for other options": he's actually taking his glove off whilst he's doing it.

You can only hail him as a gun when he stops dropping simple marks, 50m out, on his own at critical stages of matches. Sorry, but until these chest mark drops are banished from his game he's a very good servant of the club, but not a gun.

Whatever.

Hater.

Sounds like you need to watch the video again.

I was very disappointed when he dropped that mark against Hawthorn, especially given that I was absolutely giving it to the Hawthorn supporter next to me only to see the egg well and truly splater across my face, but aside from that error I think he had a very good game.

Note Q-Lynch > Daylight > Daylight ^2 > Sierakowski > David Antwanovitz (sp) > McDud...

Everytime one of our blokes mark it 10-15m out from the arc I look around for Lynch hoping that they chip it to him so he can bang it long. It should be a proven tactic but we dont use it as often as Id like.

Quinten is the number one raised arm finger wave celebrator in the AFL i would say.

legend, those were the days where we could do no wrong.

Are you guys kidding... worst AFL player ever!

Oh hang on - thought you were talking about Quenton Leach :p

Top 5 B&F finish for Q in 2009.

In our all-time 22, who's at CHF?

White? Langdon? Hansen?

Doesn't Q have these guys covered?

I know he's never strictly lined up at CHF, but in the absence of other outstanding candidates, and in light of Q's service, surely a case could be made.

It would be interesting to see how he would go if they threw him back to FF next season after playing ruck for basically a year and a half. I don't think they will, with Kennedy, McKinley and Lecca very capable of getting 9-10 goals between them, but he would have gained a lot of fitness, not to mention strength and agility at ground level.
