Hardwick outcoaches again

I did partly deal with this question a while back, Ralll:

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/why-we-cant-make-the-8.994725/page-7#post-27506006

I don't believe any coach should be sacked mid-season, as I said in the above linked post, it's pretty impossible to make a call on a 'best' replacement when you don't have the requisite info.

One thing I didn't mention in that post is my great and ongoing respect for Andrew Collins, currently coaching with West Adelaide, once upon a time with Coburg. I think he'd make an excellent senior AFL coach, but like many others, lacks the public profile and past playing career to get his foot in the door in the big league.

He's a tremendous teaching coach and a real mentor to his players who can draw the best out of a diverse range of individuals. Sad loss for us when he departed in less than ideal circumstances. We really should have backed in a bloke like him. I should quit there. ;)

Thats fine Rayzor.
I wasnt saying to sack now, rather to see if you had made your mind up about Dimma not being the right man for us in the long run, and this should be his last season.
But your previous post you referred me to pretty much answered this, and as you dont really know who else is out there and their credentials (who outside of AFL clubland really would) youre not willing to make a judgment which is fair enough imo. (unless Andy C becomes available :p)

Just wasted 3 minutes of my life scanning page 5 of this thread...

How many reach-around's and episodes of pointless waffle did that prevent you from gracing us with?

Find me one post in your last hundred where you added a single decent paragraph about football.

I can't recall ever seeing one come out of you, just the same type of 'I'm so important I thought I'd be perfectly justified to smear this thread' bollocks we see above, or the lamest ra-ra-ra fan-boy contributions imaginable.

Say whatever you like about my way of doing things, at least I add football, you wouldn't know how to start.

Just discovered the ignore option - I wont be tempted to add to the waste of space now wang!!

Chuckling at you fooling yourself that your day could be complete without what you crave. [/kiss]

That's certainly my preference, Ralll, but again, I don't have the resources to judge what else is out there on the market.

I think it's undeniable that we have the kind of list that would tempt all comers. ;)

King said something right at the end of the segment and Maclure basically just said "yeah well" and rubbed his chest and that was it. So yeah, pretty much.

Did you like it when he was describing what the blues should have done (won games, us and the saints) by hypotheticals and king pulled him up on the fact that it was exact perameters that he was bagging the tigers.

It was at the end of the segment when he brought up the 'bet of the year' and all the slug did was throw his hands in the air.

Why do we pay big money for a specialist 'opposition analyst', MT2, if we just go and do the same thing, every week, regardless of who the opposition is?

You're really selling the coaching staff short...

...that's my job! :D;)

Of course it can, flea, Geelong didn't develop that game plan purely by accident.

If we look at the career of a bloke like Stokes, we have had and do have plenty of players on that line of raw talent, he's just progressed in a better environment to learn how to dominate a football field.

Try your heart out, as I've told you umpteen times before, you won't get anywhere.

I'd become a journalist if I wanted to have my thoughts funneled through the pipeline of what 'others' want me to write.

They day you personally offer to pay me to be here, you can commence presuming that you can dictate what I do or say.

Until then, how about just being glad you get something (*anything*) for nothing?

I'm glad you disagree(i wouldnt have expected anything less), but imo you can teach players to a pretty high degree(like all very good teams), but this geelong of late have had a near perfect ability to choose the right thing to do nearly all the time unlike near all teams ever including some of the great teams of yesteryear. That has a hell of a lot to do with inate player ability and its a reason why this team is rated the best ever by many experts above and beyond 'normal' premiership teams.

While perhaps not the words best tactician, Hardwick at the very least would seem to be a great man motivator. Lids mentioned in his post contract presser that Hardwick re-signing went a long way to him committing for the length he did. The stability the club currently has and the confidence this gives to the playing group should not be underestimated.

I think Hardwick has done more than enough to see out his contract. But I wouldn’t be extending it unless we make top 6 next year. Our window is just opening, plenty of time for change if and when the on field results aren’t living up to expectations.

Thats what I love about you mate.. its like shelling peas..
Thanks for sharing:):rainbow:

No, I didn't think you could find anything you'd ever said about football which amounted to more than gushing fan-boy waffle.

And thanks for finally confessing that your endless whinging is done solely for your own amusement. What a great contributor you are.

Dude you seriously need to relax... Take a tramadol and have your afternoon nap..

It's a football board.

You belong on Facebook, talking complete bollocks about nothing, with your own kind.

I'm calling Truce mate.. Have a good day.. We are both tigers..

Peace man

I missed you declaring or waging war, unless you count jabbing someone a hundred times with a paper clip and figuring you'll get away with it forever.

Fair enough dude.. I have run out of clips.. I'm done

Go tiges.. :thumbsu:

Love Andy Collins and would love for him to come back to Richmond reserves next year. But he deosnt want to be an AFL coach, well he didnt back in 2005, we offered him a full time assistant role but we wanted him to drop his other commitments which was to cricket victoria from memory. Stupidly we gave him a bit of an ultimatum and he walked to west adelaide.

today was grabage again from the coaching panel- which players have improved bar ellis and vlas?

King, Edwards, Houli, Jackson, Vickery, McGuane, Martin blah blah.
What did the coaching panel do that was grabage mate?
Faced with a massive flood like today, what should they have done?

well they should have had game plans cowboy. you plan ahead. you shift things into gear. it aint rocket science. we were generally not up today, I was harping on it all week, sure enough we mentally relaxed and we should have had greater ideas, spread and our fwd entries were at times pathetic. we are just an average team on that effort.

Taken them apart like every other side has to date (average ones included)?

That was a pathetic performance today against a vfl calibre side.

But you go ahead and defend the undefendable chief, will enjoy watching the spin

from Greg Baum

he stats sheet would not be denied: Richmond had the ball 100 times more than Melbourne, fetched inside 50 almost 20 more times, and that advantage would have been even more pronounced if the Tigers had not inexplicably decided to play out the end of the game in safety mode. It became a percentage neutraliser.

fairly ordinary effort from reports of my mates back home and nothing potent in our fwd entries. why is it we surrender the ball so easily out of our backline, cats succumbed to that last night, Hardwicks game plan is no pressure at the contest, instead we do this crap from Greg Baum

We were not very good by any stretch but you're not giving Melbourne any credit for today. If you've seen them at all this year you would notice that they work rate and tackling was about 10 times better then at any other point this year.

Every team usually has its chance at some point in the season where they play well above where they were. Just see yesterday Brisbane beating Essendon

Pretty hard when the opposition come and don't even try to win. Melbourne was happy just to limit the damage. They succeeded. Good luck to them if that's the way they want to go about it.
We won by 6 goals. Meh.
Bring on the Bombers.
