I’ve been processing this for a while as I am one of the supporters that thought his time was up.
But Dimma single handedly made the club what it is today.
Yes he had massive help from the likes of Benny, Peggy etc but it was him who instilled the Richmond man culture and transformed the club to a bottom dweller to the envy of the competition for five years.
I have absolutely no doubt that without Damien Hardwick we would not have any of the 2017, 2019 or 2020 premierships.
BUT BUT BUT DIM SIM CAN'T COACH HE WITHOUT THE ASS COACHES HE IS NOTHING

the afl owe us bigtime and I hope dillon knows that

that four eyed salty geelol campaigner changed the rules to stop Richmond, and stopped dimma getting a certain 4th flag which wouldve made him the greatest coach in VFL/AFL history. that corrupt stand rule scats flag should've been ours

afl probably sees 3 flags as a cut off for one club , they wanna share it around like pass the parcel

was a bit of a risk apperently as he didnt have a Kiss album in his collection at the time,Clubs were sceptical, would he pronounce it Dimmisty ? or Dine-s -sty ?

the ansa is at the 10 sec mark

is he still wearing a wig

Was thinking of a bridge to jump off yesty ,I was that low.

Watched the 2019 doco ,cried again.

Today I have come out of the depression and now forever grateful for what happened.

We were spoilt rotten with success, made the pain all worth it.

I remember after 1980 thinking we could win the next 5 flags.

Wasn't to be but we came out of that time and the various Gods upstairs smiled on us.

Love you Richmond.
Your a true blue Richmond man Smasha.

I'm completely #eco for the rest of this season since Dimma retired.
Cmon mate done be like that

We support the Richmond Tigers not the Richmond Dimma’s

It’s just the next phase of the ongoing history of the club and something to get excited about now the initial shock is over

Celebrate what Dimma has given us and now to be optimistic about what’s in store for us next and enjoy the ride

Hey guys, so what did i miss?

So at this point, do you think i might have had a few points when i said the culture was fracturing and it was revolving around Dimma? Maybe i'm not a troll afterall.

Floored by the news, without details cant really assume anything - but whoever's decision it was to terminate this arrangement 10 games after trading away 2 years worth of draft picks away - will definitely have some explaining to do. This stinks of a shitshow. It actually might be worse than i ever painted it to be, imagine that.

You don’t have a press conference like that with absolute admiration from all sides if there’s a fracturing of the culture. If you watch various players farewell speeches end of 2021/22 and the way Jack talks about Dimma now and think there’s a coach/player problem then you’re delusional.

And let’s say for a second we didn’t trade those picks for TT and Hopper. Knowing Cotch is retiring and on the assumption Prestia is injured, and with Martin almost exclusive forward, take me through the midfield for 2024-26:

Bolton
Ross
Dow
Graham
Sonsie

Is this what we’re running with until such time as we hope and pray our picks 12 & 19 (and 1st rounder this year) can fulfil that role?

And let’s say we don’t nail those picks - our midfield would be a joke for years and years.

Look at North. They’ve had high picks with which they’ve picked up midfielders galore:

2016: Jy Simpkin (pick 12)
2017: LDU (4) & Will Walker (23)
2018: Thomas (8). Bailey Scott (49)
2019: Perez (35)
2020: Philips (3). Powell (13). Lazarro (36)
2021: JHF (1). Goater (22)
2022: scheezel (3). Wardlaw (4)

So the Roos have been stockpiling midfielders for 7-years! 13 x top-50 draftees and 8 in the top-20 and they’re still bottom 3 with what looks like a few more years of pain.

And you think us hanging on to 12, 19 and a F1 was going to somehow be the panacea of a midfield rebuild.

There’s no perfect way to build a list to win finals. But I am glad we got 2 x 100% guaranteed quality midfielders for 3 x top-20 draft picks, only one of which is top-10.

Me too. I don’t really care if we make finals or not. Feels like the pressure to perform has been released by Hardwick’s resignation for some reason.

I just want to see what McQualter can do.

When others #eco that is when I #ECI .

Right campaigners, where do I hang my emotional hat and coat around here? I am rolling my emotional sleeves up as we speak. While you guys are alighting the tiger train, I am jumping on the mini-bus. The McQualter Lindrum of footy coaches.

I am the opposite more interested now Dimma's gone
Same!
This year had train wreck
Written all over it and clear we’d come to the crossroads with a coach whose message no longer resonated.
Excited for the first time in months about what the change will bring.
Guaranteed, some players will paddle up stream but others will undoubtedly thrive.
Our playing group has become stale!
